He used to be in the British soap Emmerdale. I think it was called Emmerdale Farm when he was in it. Ian Sharrock is the actor's name. He played this role perfectly.

I think 'Alan partridge mid morning matters ' is the best thing he has done , not many episodes and they 20 mins each . Very funny as its him doing his radio show.

Apparently the fan shrine incident happened to Stewart Lee. He told the writer Armando Ianucci about it who then appropriated the incident for Alan and didn't tell him.

I think you would love this series called "Stath Lets Flats" it is probably the funniest British comedy show I have seen in a good loooong while, I guarantee you a big laugh every 10 seconds. Anyone who gets Alan Partridge, and aren't from this country is o.k in my book, there's loads of little subtle jokes alot of people wouldn't get, like when he's getting chased but has to make sure the cars locked etc, you have to understand him and his life to get alot of the jokes as well, your getting it now, keep it up and you'll be surprised at all the other comedy's like this we have, but most people not from this country wouldn't have seen,
