The cinematography, the music, the scale, the wonder, it's all so captivating! We're Incredibly grateful to have Denis bring us such a complex story to life through his eyes🙏🏽
Amen!
@Justin Freitag I don’t find any problem with that at all😊 let’s just all be happy with the flicks we enjoy so much.
And directing, acting, editing, etc
@@just42day its sad
You post the same comment everywhere ur just desperate for likes which is very sad. It all amounts to nothing
The cinematography, the score, the actors, the story, I'm so hyped and sold for this movie, I can't wait anymore
Dune is legit my fav book so I cannot wait for part 2. These next 6 months cannot go fast enough! Long live Paul Muad Dib!!!!
If it's your fav book, part 1 did a massive disservice. Maybe reread the themes of the book? Planetary eco biology as destiny, the suspicion upon Lady Jessica as a traitor, the choice that Paul is NOT the messiah Freemen as they see it - all are missing.
@@eschiedler they did film the dinner scene but had to cut it down which is a shame but necessary and Paul not being the messiah is all what Herbert wrote. Both book and movie make the point that the BG prepared the Fremen and manipulated them into believing the Kwitzatz Haderach is the Mahdi
@@eschiedler did you watch the first movie? It features the ecology on the planet and the fact that Arrakis natives had been manipulated by the BG
@@eschiedler if you wanted all that the movie wouldn’t be possible. Dune at its core is beware of charismatic leaders and it did that well
The scale is just immensely enormous , damn, the music by hans zimmer and the cinematography by greig fraser can't be more perfect.
This happen when THE best in respective fields artist come together, create a true masterpiece.
When Paul stands on the worm finally in control during this trailer all I had in my head was the older films music when the guitar kicks in :D
This series is literally my life movie. No other movies will top this ones for me.
I mean lotr extended versions are there
It's very cool that Zendaya's character gets to have more screen time and getting to interact with Tim a lot more!!
You should brace yourself for when Dune Messiah roles around.
Stellar cast for such an amazing tale. And the visuals are top notch as well.
Speaking of the cast, it's also a Marvel extravaganza...
This cast is insanely stacked! I absolutely cannot wait to see this movie. I'm absolutely dying to see Austin Butler and Florence Pugh's performances. It's going to be a really good movie.
While I think Florence will do a good job, but she's not the irulan in the books for me.
Austin looks absolutely terrifying! He’s the real deal, that boy!
That's because Dune is THE SCI-FI movie from THE SCI-FI novel. It literally was the first ever novel that started the genre Sci-fi in world literature. Kind of like how Superman started the whole comic book genre and made it popular which later started an entire industry.
So agree !!! Absolutely agree!!!!
Im so hyped for this. Im currently on the 4th book so Im very invested in this world. Curious to see how Paul’s character is portrayed in this movie because Dennis has expressed interest in adapting the 2nd book and that completely changed how I viewed Paul. Cannot wait!!!
Please don't spoilers it for others who don't know the book. Just remember Fear is the mind killer! The path is Golden. 🤫
@Unwonted Contriver well I’ll keep it vague but Paul and his choices in the second book become much more complex and quite frankly more interesting so Im wondering if they lean into that a bit more or just keep to the more traditional sci fi hero character.
@@javi0313 Paul is most certainly not gonna be a sci fi hero in this the last movie made it very clear even without some book stuff
The Golden Path... the 4th book is so good. If Denis Villeneuve adapts Dune Messiah, he should go ahead and do another trilogy for books 3 and 4.
@@abstractnonsense3253 if they're not adapting "Hunters of Dune", what's all of this for?
/s
One of the best books ever written by one of the best directors, one of the best composers and a fantastic cast.😁
Dune Part I was nothing but a 10/10 experience. I really hope Part II is a seamless sequel that is just as awesome!
I think that considering it as a “sequel” won’t do it justice. It really is a 2nd 1/2 to one story. One book. And it’s being done by the same director who did part 1. A director that arguably has never made a bad movie. I think it’s going to be better than the first half for sure!
Gladiator inspiration? No kidding. That was Feyd-Rautha in the arena, which is very clearly a battle to the death spectacle taken from the Ancient Romans by the Harkonnens. There's a specific scene in the book this is probably depicting.
What I love about Villeneuve's cinematography is also the scale. It has a weight that you don't get to see very often. The way Paul stands on that rock and it shows the huge crowd in the distance, probably a mile from the base of the cliff itself. It creates the feeling that there are probably ten times that many people out of view, hidden by the thing he's standing on. A subtle nod to the way Paul uses the Fremen in the future.
Reading the books right now, I PRAY more films are made. This is SUCH a rich universe created by Frank Herbert and carried on by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. If given the chance it could elevate sci-fi and fantasy films for years.
Great reaction - yes, I loved the first part, and, as you say, this is the filmmaker who gets me out of my home and paying the big bucks to see this in the cinema, on IMAX - repeatedly (and also traveling just to find an IMAX screen to watch it) - green-light part 3!
I like how it's so grounded in it's own universe and hold it's own theme. Much different from Star Wars has developed into where new things keep popping up every other episode and there is more colors than a Nickelodeon cartoon.
The reason that one part looked like Gladiator, is because Fayd Rautha (the bald dude) fought in in the Gladiatorial fighting pits.
Absolutely loved Dune! Hyped for part 2.
I can't wait. I love Dune, the books the movie, the new movie. Making my kids watch the first one, knowing that the second part would be when the fun would really begin. This will be insane!
Fuck! The literal goosebumps has been crawling all over me while repeatedly watching this trailer! Fuck! Sooo damn good❤
Same
The IMAX is also much more about the sound that it is the picture format, the sound in IMAX is incredible.
It looks gorgeous. Everything's seems to be on point just as the first part. I had chills down to my spine while I was watching this trailer.
I haven’t been this excited for a movie since Spider-Man: No Way Home!!
hans zimmer's music❤😅. Timmy's acting DV's direction . Can't ask more than this. Just can't to watch it in IMAX
I'm mostly hyped for Austin Butler's performance.
Same here Austin will be great
Fight with Rauta, Irulan, and they haven't shown Emperor Shaddam 4 yet! A Masterpiece is coming...
Wow, i love how Denis has made a series that is exciting enough to get you guys hooked. I guess at this point you probably couldn't imagine that Paul would ever become an oppressor? I am really hopeful that this movie is going to really start driving the knife closer and closer to the heart of the matter : )
Dune novel basically started the sci-fi genre in world literature and was the inspiration behind so many popular sci-fi movies including Star Wars. Star wars is more like a ripped off version of it but still you get the idea. Glad to see this movie and the novel getting the proper recognition it deserves
Yeah, the author imagined a futuristic world in 1960's of so many things which are basically reality today. It's a piece of art
Dune 1965 was the first grown up sci-fi book and subsequent series I ever read. Thanks Dad!
I saw the second part today and want to say IT IS INCREDIBLE! *IN ONE BREATH!* Thanks to all the actors and team FOR TITANIC JOB! And we are waiting to continue. Hello from KZ!
Y'all were quick asf
This movie looks fantastic!!
You have no idea how excited I am for this film. I absolutely loved Part 1. I had no negative con about the film. I saw it 3 times in IMAX. This time, I’m seeing it 3 times in IMAX AGAIN! So ready to see this film.
Jj Abrams only produced Cloverfield. Matt Reeves directed it.
LMAOOO JABY that was fast 😭
My only problem with this trailer is that I want to see the movie now 😄📽️🎞️
It's sad that here theatres were closed at that the time Dune released...but not missing the sequel by any chance, even be of 4hrs....no problemo
I am so stunned by Florence american accent
correct they cut this trailer perfectly, didn't give too much away which most trailers seem to do these days
We didn’t even get to see Paul’s little sister! Alia! She literally is so important to this part and I think she will be the highlight of the whole movie! We saw her as a baby in the first part so we know she’s coming! DV is saving her for the main trailer this summer! 😊
In the book, Paul doesn’t just summon a sand worm, he summons the biggest sand worm the Fremen has ever seen. I hope they convey that in the movie, because sand worms are already huge. Feyd looks very different to what I was expecting, when they cast Austin Butler, I assumed they would make him look less like a Harkonnen. Odd choice.
The worm he's riding is just an appetizer for the rest of the movie.
I can’t wait for this movie!
I rewatched the first part today and was mind blown, such an amazing movie. What a vision was this film, watching it unfold piece by piece with visuals of Paul Atredis makes me want more of the Dune world, the best Sci-Fi film in the recent times. The acting is so powerful that it actually makes you think the world is real, and the vfx convinces you on the top of it. Can’t wait 🔥
You may laugh but I loved every iteration of Dune. The original movie & the sci-fi channel version.
Do a Re watch of Dune. It doesn't matter if you have already watched the film you can comment on the different filmmaking aspects of it on the go.
WOOOOOO!!!! 🎉 I'm excited!!! 😮The music so deep, the cinematograohy so entrancing, the acting superb. It'll be a film to remember.
Dune is honestly impossible to capture the full scale of the storytelling. The movie even though you feel part of it is slow it was actually too fast. Too much of the story is left out but that being said it may have been the best for an on screen adaptation. One of the big things you are missing is a good understanding of why the world building is the way it is. Villeneuve however really is doing a good job of making a viewer feel the scale of things. Part one still feels small and I honestly think the first book could be done in 3 movies but that is too much to ask of viewers and a studio. The emotional and spiritual build of the character of Paul Atreides is huge and just when you see him and figure out what is going on the entire rug of the plot is pulled from under you in the ongoing stories. I have always wanted them to do movies of the next parts of the stories but that would take up the rest of Villeneuve's life so maybe for another generation.
That timing of the score and music in this trailer ❤Last time I felt similar was for the Miami vice Trailer 😍
The Tension, Surprise & Excitement on faces till 2:04 🔥 with BGM
I love how you guys with your headsets are like commentators at a UFC match lol so cool
Hahaha, I can feel how Jaby felt while watching. He was so into it❤
Timothée ❤❤❤❤
The Cinematography, Visual Effects, Score, Production Design, Costume Design, Hairstyle and Make-up all top notch. The massive scale of Dune: Part 2 will dwarf Dune: Part 1. There will be much more action than than first film. You're right in your assessment is correct that the first film was set up. It's been compared to a roller coaster; Part 1 is like when the coaster go up and Part 2 is when the coaster goes down fast.
The background music always gives me goosebumps
You guys are fast, wow
3:54 These Worms are literally the life of all Arrakis!
For me, Handsdown Dune part one is one of the best movie experiences of all time. I don't care even if the second part is not as good as first one, but I am gonna go just for what part one made me feel.
I enjoyed the first Dune movie! Very excited for Part Two!! Amazing cast! Everything in this looks awesome!!
I freaking feel it! I have chills everywhere
I loved the scale, the scope, the character/conflict building of the real, human, relatable and multifaceted characters in Dune part 1 as well as the cinematography, the musical score, production design and pretty much everything about the first movie. I know some people had some issues with it, which is okay and it's their right to, but I thought it ended in a way where I was satisfied and couldn't wait to see what's going to happen next. It ended like the lord of the rings did, honestly; I feel like there are similarities between the two franchises, in a lot of ways.
Anyway, Dune part 1 is a masterpiece and one of my favorite Denis Villeneuve films and one of my favorite movies of 2021.
Will be the best movie of 2023
I am glad that the Imax ratio would be throughout
Paul:When you see sand here, imagine water.
Leto II: Well...actually dad......
im still pissed that BR2049 isn't a $2B movie!
Bruh, I'm a huge fan of BR but 2B is too much bro😂
@@adityasanthosh702 yeah and Something like Endgame gets 3billion really 😂
The 1984 Dune movie has lots of scale. It’s an excellent film.
🔥🔥🔥 Iss movie ko toh 1 billion cross karna hi hoga
6:57 it makes sense. In the first one they wanted to show us how it looks the enviroment. In the second we know already so they are giving us more action
Paul and Chani are back in the part two of dune
Me too. I was suprised that I will be liking it that much
Part One is about survival, Part Two is going to be a war.
Its not "The Worm".... Its SHAI HULUD lolll
Король минимализма дэни вильнёв, снова в деле!
This is how you make a film out of an epic book!!
We're not ready for this movie. If you've read the book you know how crazy the second half of the story is
CAN'T! They have a kiss in this MOVIE. It is happening
60 BILLION BABY !!!!!!!
How did you have time to film this so quickly omg
The first one was a really phenomenal experience. Cannot wait for this.
I'm sure others have mentioned this, but in case not, this entire movie was filmed in Imax.
6 months😢 I can't wait
If Herbert were alive, he'd be like, "I'm love what I wrote. But damn, this is better."
I love Jaby's Bracelet ❤️❤️it looks so cool
Finally something good❤
We only had two good movies so far: Spider-Man: No Way Home and Top Gun Maverick!😢😊
@@nicocancilla8386💃💅
Imax experience
Denis never disappoints
Real!!!
One exemple of the Villeneuve touch, the monochromatic light on Giedi Prime, its sun rays cancel each other's colors projecting a silvery light. That's why Harkonnens are colorless themselves in a colorless world. I bet all scenes on Giedi Prime exterior will be B&W. The sun could be a white dwarf for exemple.
Jessica is travelling on a worm with her Fremen assistants, she can't ride one by herself that's why she's in a basket, she was pulled up by the others, worms are the Fremens' public transportation system.
On the other hand, Paul the off-worlder who has no training tame a worm in his first try, even Fremens don't go first on their first try, the majority only climbs once the worm is under control, only the best will tame the worm first , a must for any would be leader. Stilgar had his Morpheus moment when he realized how huge the beast was, the biggest worms stay deep, the smaller ones near the surface are usually the firsts on the source vibrations. The first climber needs to be quick in setting up the hooks exposing the tender flesh before the worm dive under or roll over, the irritation keeps the rider on top, pulling harder left or right provide the steering as the beast tries to protect the more exposed side. As the first climber you succeed or you die, no second chance.
The only way to get off safely is riding the worm until it's too tired to bother chasing you :)
I loved dune part one i bought and read dune first book in 2 days
The first one was introspective And this one will be a war film
Muad'dib!
They didn't show any of the last battle scene and Villeneuve said that it's the last hour of the movie :)
I recommend the audiobook. It's easier to find time to listen to it.
Part 1: Completed
Part 2: INBOUND ⚔️
Waiting 🤩 🤩
Can’t wait 😮
All my trust is on Denis, he will get it right!
This looks INCREDIBLE!!! WBD was smart to keep Denis Villanueve instead of Nolan. DENIS HAS THE X factor that Nolan is missing and thats a Pulse on the Audience. Making Epic Art Films accessible to Everyone.
Both are unique in their very own ways. If Nolan had directed it, I am sure he would have found a completely different way to make this movie equally exciting and interesting. Interstellar is a good example.
No, the worm ride in Lynch's Dune was goofy even in '85.
Actually if guys didn't no you probably don't you guys are younger than me. But they made an 80s one look into it. let's just say it's the clif nots version of this one.
After seeing the trailer Im gonna rewatch the Dune mini series, I would rewatch Part 1 of the new movie but I want to see the whole story again
I got Lawrence of Arabia vibes. And that's not a bad thing.
