Even the big expensive homes don’t have an enclosed garage with a big garage door their carports are normally cement/hollow blocks with fancy columns and design. Middle class homes have sheet metal carports with no walls, just enough to keep the sun off the car.

You keep saying carport, do they not do typical garages with a big door ,over there ?
They do both. Most are car port though. With the dirty kitchen located in the car port, it is better to be open to vent the kitchen smells.
