- Many enthusiasts of American Civil War music have heard of the 2nd South Carolina String Band, I had the honor to attend their last concert in Gettysburg, PA this November. The band members are simply getting too old to keep going (the drummer on the left was at the 100th anniversary of the Civil War!). Here are a few selections of their songs.

...and the drummer (at 81) is only 2 months older than the banjo player - me ! Thank you, "V.C." (if I may call you that) for attending the concert and for doing such a careful and thoughtful job with your video. After a five-year layoff following our 2019 retirement, that night was the capstone to five and a half months of individual rehearsing with our own recordings in preparation for this show. As it turned out, it was everything we could have hoped for. We are proud of our performance and our audience was the best we ever played for. I'm glad you were there to see it !

The concert was glorious, and you guys did not sound a bit different than the last time I saw you in 2013. I am amazed to learned the rehersal efforts had been individual!
I am very grateful to have been there this year, and know that many Chinese-speakers love your music and Civil War era music at large.

When i saw them on the livestream, the hurrahs literally made the audio pop. Not even kidding.

Sad to see such a legendary band not continue but it’s completely understandable
I’m in this video partially at 18:29 in the group of people behind the man’s head. I’m the tall one in the cap. This show, and the weekend as a whole was awesome.

年紀大了。他們是1989年組建的樂隊。其中一個成員甚至參加過100周年的美國内戰重演（1960年代）
