I love your haircut! Your channel is the only one cooking channel I watch, too. I am Filipino descent and I am just starting to cook Asian dishes. Thank you so much!!
I love to watch you cook so simple and delish, also I learn a lot from you about all different kind of veggies how to cook them, keep up what you doing. Thank you
When I lived in California there was a Chinese restaurant my dad would take us to for Gai Lan. One time Gai Lan was missing from the menu, so my dad asked why and the owner/hostess/waitress told him it was because people (we know who) didn't like it when they asked what it was and were told Chinese broccoli, so they changed the name to Beef and Greens. It was my favorite dish, and I haven't been able to find it since moving to the Inland Northwest 27 years ago. Now, I can make it myself! Thank you ever so! ❤ Your hair is adorable!
🙄 People. Thanks, Teri… 💁🏻♀️ it was getting too hot and my hair was too short to get it up in a ponytail but was too long against my neck. Now I’m all ready for summer! 😁
My husband and I enjoy Chinese food so much, we order takeout quite often. Tomorrow is his 77th birthday so we are having it and order enough to last a few days. I watch your videos and wish you were our go to take out place. My mouth waters when you present it to Dude for The Taste and he describes it so eloquently. btw Flo I love your cute chuckle.
How did I not know what wonderful things a little cornstarch will do for a dish? Made this dish twice this week, once with chicken and once with beef and my husband and I have decided this is our new favorite dish, although we prefer the chicken which is surprising because I usually find chicken breast dry. The cornstarch not only keeps the moisture in but provides a yummy coating. I cut the cooking oil down to 1 tsp and it works beautifully for my WW program too (only 3 points per serving!). Love it, thank you, and Happy New Year!
My parents and I do not use sugar in our Chinese dishes until I saw my brother-in-law use it. I don't understand why sugar is added. Anyway it does make sense to add it to Chinese broccoli, which I hope I will remember next time I cook it. Thanks Flo and Dude for the delicious recipe! Have a great weekend!
While chinese broccoli is not found, here in Germany: I'd give it a try with spinach or even savoy cabbage. I love savoy cabbage. I'd cook it in salted water beforehand. This will not cook as fast as the broccoli. But this would be my bet to cook this dish. Looks truly yummy! Greetings from the far north of Germany!
This looks so good! I’m going to try your recipe. I’ve made this by randomly stir frying the gai lan without blanching it first. I don’t know the proper way to make Chinese stir fries.
Luv your videos!!! Thank you for showing how easy it is to cook at home. My go-to local Chinese restaurant has reduced their serving portions to compensate for them not raising their menu prices. Looks like I'll be cooking at home more :)
Hi Flo, Dude, family and followers. Hope you are having a great day. Oh Flo just watching your videos make me gain weight LOL everything always looks so good, healthy and beautiful.
Flo is black soy sauce the same as dark soy sauce? They all say black. I love watching ur shows it’s the closest to the way my family cooks Chinese food.
Sure isn’t the Beef & Broccoli that they send with Chinese Take Out Dinner #4 for 2! LOL. This is the OG, the way all our Mom’s made it. And taken for granted like Dude says. LOL
I don’t see why not but you might like this: th-cam.com/video/L506N7fi_DE/w-d-xo.html (tofu in black bean sauce) and maybe make some greens as a second dish: th-cam.com/video/JJQD6TBQ_F0/w-d-xo.html
Looks good. But can't find that type of broccoli here. Love your recipes because I can make just a couple of changes and make them gluten free. Mainly by just using gluten free soy and gluten free Oster sauce. Thank you
I have one thing I see when you are cutting. The type of cutting board you are using dulls your knife. Stiff to a silicone or bamboo cutting board. Just a tip.
@@FloLum Can you do a video on chicken and salted fish fried rice !!! I made it a few times pretty close but I can never make it like the Chinese restaurant can never figure out where they get the slated fish
Such a simple, classic Cantonese dish that the whole family will love. Happy Sunday! 💕

I'm learning all the new veggies. Thank you.

Thanks, Donna! So appreciate your kind words. Wishing your husband a wonderful birthday! 🎂🥳
This looks delicious. You also have a skill at making what some would see as exotic look like achievable and 'ordinary' home comfort food.
Flo, I am such a fan! I am retired and live in Seattle. I feel like we are neighbors.
My next dish to try.....looove this vegetable

It’s all about balancing the flavours. Sometimes just a little makes a difference.
@@FloLum thanks Flo. I’ll try it out and see if my family and I will notify the difference. 😊

Hiya.. I cannot get Chinese broccoli where I live in Italy
. Can I use Italian broccoli.? Your recipes are delicious!!!!!!!! Still to taste yet..
Why not? Sounds good!
yummy💕
Can you use choi sun as a substitute?
Absolutely!

Thanks for sugar in the water tip. I've had guy lan in GoodFood meals but found it a little bitter.
Oh and if you put just a 1/4 of teaspoon of baking soda to your marinate is the key to super tender meat for stir fry!! Give it a whirl.
is this still beef and brocoli dish
That is one beautiful cat. Where did you guys got that thing from?
hi i'm brittany. i'm new to your channel.
can i use bok choy?
Could I make this snd use soy in place of flank for my vegan friends? I’m freaking out trying to find a nice dish to make for a lunch visit!
