    Those twists are the bomb. I just love twists with natural hair without extensions. Sure you may need to do them more frequently but personally, I think it allows me to take better care of my hair and retain moisture better.

      He put me on the Softee Indian Hemp and my locs love it. I use it once, maybe twice a week and use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner or a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

    I know that's right! As long as the product does what its supposed to do (living up to the hype) I'm good! As long as it isn't a known hazzard to the hair skin or body... An I can't stand when people question back to back about products or go on and on about what they do and don't do (health concise wise) yet they're eating and living what is generally considered unhealthy! 🤣 Makes me laugh inside!

    Can you do a demo or give tips on how to do twists? I love doing twists but the roots puff up, so I start with a braid then go into a twist.

    Beautiful head of hair. I used to get my hair two strand twisted a few years ago. I got to the point where I hated taking them down. It took me hours to take them down properly. The last time I almost went insane and granbed the scissors to cut them bitches out. I took some deep breaths, fought back that one tear, and took a break. I got through at 3:00am. That was my last damn time getting my natural hair twisted. The longer it is the longer it takes to take out. Hell no, NEVER 👺

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That shouldn't be the case. Sometimes it's not the twists themselves but finding the right size that works for your hair. I find that I have to adjust the size of my twists to suit each individual client otherwise it will promote tangling during the twistout. If you separate the twist midstrand while holding the end, it will prevent the ends from rapidly wrapping around itself and forming tight knots

    • @mirandasmith8501
      @mirandasmith8501 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. I made sure my stylist made my twist bigger for easier take down. Not only that my hair would frizz a lot. My twist got to the point where they would last a week. My stylist could not figure out why. I found another natural hair stylist that said my problem was my ends needed to be cut not trimmed. Now I keep my ends trimmed every 3 months or so and keep my hair in crochets.

    SERIOUS QUESTION: Did you comb out the hair, brush it out, or blow dry before starting? Its so hard to prepare my daughters hair for doing twist even thought its her favorite style. I honestly only use olive oil water and doo gro on her hair lol her hair is very very sensitive to chemicals and heat.

      I have plenty of videos of how I do twist extensions in my hair. I've done Marley/Cuban/kinky twists so many times in my hair. Search my channel page for those terms and you will see a good number of tutorials and demonstrations for your viewing pleasure.
