    My therapist softens the TKEs by putting a folded small towel between the band and the back of the knee. I don't think I could manage otherwise. I'm going to try that first one. I've never seen an extension exercise like it!

    I had a TKR at the end of Oct. 22. I finished P.T.
    My knee hurts every day most all day. I do aqua therapy on my own approx. three days per week. My Dr. took xrays & said everything looks good.

      Sorry to hear about your continued pain after surgery. At this point you are more dealing with persistent pain rather than post-op pain. What this means is your knee and the soft tissue and structures are healed but you are still having pain. The pain alarm system your body sends through your nervous system disconnected with what structurally is happening in the knee.       Sorry to hear this. These exercises can be beneficial, but your doctor may want you to not do these exercises for a specific time while the fracture is healing. Therefore I recommend consulting specifically with your doctor / physical therapist about what exercises are appropriate.
