Gone now following your protocol, I refer all my clientele to you online to help their issues. You have a good following with my business, your such a blessing.
I started to develop knee pain along the medial line of my right knee in March this year. My physio told me it was a fraid medial meniscus resulting from arthritis (I'm a 64 yo distance runner). He told me to reduce my training load and do some leg extensions and it should settle in a few weeks. It didn't really recover, although it was tolerable. I ran 26 races in 24 weeks, winning my clubs xc championship, which was excellent, however, toward the end of the season my knee became quite painful. I visited my local sports doctor, who recommended PRP injections at the end of the season in mid-September. Unfortunately, the pain in my right MCL forced me to stop running completely. Today I saw the senior sports doctor, who immediately focused on the VMO. Very interesting exercises with good explanations. I thought that locking out the knee was not good for your knees but it seems to be a key component of these exercises to heal your knee.
@@kironsunderraj3698really? A 14 minute video with clearly explained and demonstrated exercises is too much for you? I found the balance between talking and demonstrating just perfect. As someone who is due for knee surgery in the near future, the introductory "waffle" was a gold mine.
This is great! My right knee hurts (patellar joint and behind the patella), and after trying this I noticed that I have no real control of that side's VMO. I can make it fire up like nothing though on the left side, though. So I'm thinking I have an imbalance that I need to correct. Thank you!
Hi and great results so far! Thanks for trying it out and keep us posted on your progress. We are here if you need any more support :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM
Thanks , I have been doing these exercises daily for 8 days and for the first time in years , I can bend my knees without pain when I pick up things off the floor.I started slowly with the exercises to gain mind body appreciation of the movement. Now that I can do them I doing them less often to see how it affects the knees. Before these exercises I was doing body weight squats up to 30 -40 times a day up to 4 times a week, but this never helped the knee pain until your exercises. I guess I had at the least an underutilised vmo.
Thank you for this info. I am curious about something, which I hope you can clarify. Another TH-camr who I believe is a physiotherapist, seems to emphasize strengthening glutes for knee issues as the quads are apparently in general too strong in relation to the glutes. Not sure if my explanation is adequate, but what is your take on importance of strengthening the glutes for knee pain? Ive only seen two of your videos so far and you haven’t mentioned them.
You are welcome, and thanks for asking. The kinetic chain is complex, and there exists a relationship between glutes and quads. It's one area to address among many. We've prioritized other root causes that have a stronger biomechanical effect. Let us know if that helps or if you have any more questions :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM
I typically have very good control of my body - but making the mind-body control to just the VMO is proving different. I think i'm activating it but I really have to concentrate (kinda like lifting the one eyebrow that doesn't want to lift). Is there a cheat movement to isolate it? One leg is easier than the other to activate without firing the other portions of the quad. Brilliant delivery/presentation. Kudos to your straightforward explanations! I subscribed!
Hi and thanks for commenting. It's tricky especially if you have never done this before. You will improve with time and practice. Try gently tapping the muscle while attempting to activate it. This will give you tactile feedback about your efforts. Keep us posted on your progress and let us know if you ever need more advice or assistance :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM
Thank you very much. I've recently injured my knee at the gym a few months back from doing deep squats with my heels elevated. Then in a class last night, jumping made it worse and it has swelled up, unable to bend it. My soreness is on the outer top knee so not certain what it is.

This is mindblowing, I have this problem, I have very hard time to feel VMO, my thighs are thick in upper section maybe even more I would like, also I was always gaining thicknes on my gluts through squats, and my VMO were tiny, when I have shorts, my knees section looks like I never squated in my life,😭😅 is this pure in the mind, wrong technique, bad habits in developing feeling in particular muscles? I thought its about genetics, muscles and tendones attachment on bones that I have kind of predisposition for this, now I want realy concentrate on this to develop that nice thick lower quads around knee
Thanks so much for taking the time to try it out and comment. Try gently tapping your VMO while attempting to activate it. This will give you tactile feedback about your efforts. You will improve with time and practice. Keep us posted on your progress :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM
Coach E, thank you for your thoroughness when explaining the function of muscles! I had a bad fall and ruptured my ACL and tore my meniscus. It was awhile before I was treated so I wasn't aware of the importance of getting the quads firing immediately until now. My surgery was in August. I'm no longer in therapy but I lead a very active lifestyle - cycling and hiking. I can tell the quads are still weak and likely atrophied . Does this loose flabby look ever go away with time?
This video speaks of your professionalism and thoroughness, thnx🎉

- Coach Joshua, Team PM
I have a lateral patellar tilt on my left knee and found these exercises very useful and simple to perform. I appreciate adding these exercises to my repertoire! Thanks

It's amazing and needs a lot of core strength. Simply brilliant ...
Glad that you think so :)
Very interesting exercises with good explanations.
I thought that locking out the knee was not good for your knees but it seems to be a key component of these exercises to heal your knee.
Thanks for watching!
One thing you failed to tell us... how do you get onto the floor and then back up again?
Hi!
Try out and floor exercises in bed :)

Congrats for wasting everyone's time by talking too much!!!
@@kironsunderraj3698really? A 14 minute video with clearly explained and demonstrated exercises is too much for you? I found the balance between talking and demonstrating just perfect. As someone who is due for knee surgery in the near future, the introductory "waffle" was a gold mine.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Happy fathers day!
@@kironsunderraj3698why are you an asshole?
Vraiment excellent programme pour muscler les quadriceps

You are welcome.
Great information
Glad that you think so :)
Magnificent investigation, explanation 🎉 and exercises! Thanks bro!
You are welcome!

Very good and useful!

Nice work!
Extraordinary work. Thank you.
Thanks for that :)
Very helpful thank you!
You're welcome!
Let us know if that helps or if you have any more questions :)

Thank you very much. I've recently injured my knee at the gym a few months back from doing deep squats with my heels elevated. Then in a class last night, jumping made it worse and it has swelled up, unable to bend it. My soreness is on the outer top knee so not certain what it is.
Ouch!
These exercises can help as can this program:

That you for sharing that good routine! Greetings 🙂
Thanks for visiting :)
This was so helpful; I can't thank you enough.
Happy to help!

Thank you Eric. 😊
Welcome!
You are so welcome and thanks for stopping by.
Keep working on the exericses and you'll improve with time and practice :)
