When I did the military service in 1991 we had the Viggen Aircraft in our base. But sometimes the Draken visit our airbase (from F10, the last Draken division in Sweden) and it was Always I show wathing the landing with their parachute.
Nicely edited video of a badass bitch of an aircraft. Good on Sweden for supporting homegrown technology & Austria for choosing a winner. Too bad Canada missed the boat on that count. Other than the CF-100 & the cancelled Arrow program all we've ever managed in a military fighter is license built foreign aircraft.

I REMEMBER SEVERAL YEARS AGO, WHEN THEY DECIDED TO LAY THE 35(JETDRAGON) PROJECT DOWN I SWEDEN. THERE IMEDETLEY WENT A ROUMOR,THE SWEDISH MILITARY DEFENCE WOULD SELL THEM OUT FOR ANY - IT WENT NOT! EVEN AUSTRIA AND FINLAND HAVE THEM EVEN ,DOWN OR NOT ! Magnus! (they have 50 years in the Swedish military defence in air ! )
lol, they look like East German army with the uniforms... but hey, all Germans, so theres not that big of a difference and big bad German warlord of last mid century was from Austria, so there is that.. XD
Field uniforms are clearly following U.S. design, just RAL 7013 instead of army green. So I take it, your remark puts on the dress uniforms. Well, in my book not so much, but IIRC GDR and Austrian customs had clearly close resemblance, especially with almost similar grey colors and green distinctions.
