Yeess!! When she speaks to him, you can tell he is really listening to her. He cares about what she thinks and what she has to say. His eyes become so focused on her like he is genuinely taking in every word, and he has been that way with her since the beginning pretty much if you go back and pay attention to their interactions. I googled it, it is from R.G. Moon. But it si a very powerful quote. I told my friend today that I noticed, how different Penelope and LW are. When Penelope is Penelope, she is very shy, down to earth. But when she is LW she is so powerful and confident. For example when she talked with Madame Delacroix, she was so confident and so outspoken. I love that side of her. I hope that in season 3 she will shine through 💛
But is Eloise really actually smart in the series or is she just a narcissistic busybody with nothing else to do? Initially I liked Eloise but by the end of season 1, I realized that she isn't even a decent friend to Pen. She never truly shows friendship to Pen, only takes from Pen what she needs in their "friendship". By season 2 I was completely done with Eloise. At this point for me, I don't know how they could possibly turn her character development around and make her more sympathetic and less self obsessed. If they can't, then I will be skipping her season.

They don't seem to fit the narrative. On the other hand: Maybe it is to make her stand out as an overlooked outsider, as Mrs Whistledown. But that is my speculation only

Honestly I am hoping they channel Colin’s whole “I don’t care because of the gossip, I care because this is some dangerous stuff” attitude that he had in the book. Eloise had enough righteous indignation for everyone, I want someone to acknowledge that Penelope has stood toe to toe with the queen and it’s a reckless thing to do.
@@kaylahensley1581I agree. I love his reaction in the book. Eloise has got the anger (and presumably forgiveness) angle. Colin should be the impressed, supportive one. Plus it's important to Colin's story/purpose.
