I have had more success with cloth ropes then the synthetic ropes. I also hang mine with rubber gloves so not to get any human scent on it and then I cover the rope from the top to bottom with very heavy scent (Rack rub). I see a lot of guys not hanging them correctly they are too high. The bottom of the rope should be at your belly button level to let does lick and get their face rub against it to get the bucks to really come to it.
yeah i don't typically hang mine that low because i use it as a "lickin limb " as opposed to a "rack rub " type deal.. I've had a ton of success doing it this way... and the gloves definitely wouldn't hurt the situation! I've had deer come to them before I've even walked away from the area.
I picked one of these up and hung it this evening. While i was putting it up, I was wondering if I was the only "dope that got roped", we will see
