Please stay with you tube. I’m in north NJ also zone 6. There doesn’t seem to be many north eastern gardeners that post. I appreciate your knowledge, advice & garden! Beautiful!

I totally agree with you on so many levels. As I'm getting older, I don't want to work so hard in the garden. I'm converting my garden to approximately 80% trees and shrubs and 20% perennials. This is the perfect time of year to use the cardboard and mulch method for new garden beds. Thanks for sharing your garden and valuable information.

Thank you for ur great videos. Please continue with TH-cam!! I hang on to ur every word!!!
I have come to the same conclusion this summer. With all of the rain, keeping up with the prolific weeds, pruning, etc., was challenging. I don’t feel good about my gardens when they r filled with weeds. Ur video is the confirmation I needed. My spirit desires an incredible British manor cottage garden, which would be many times the size of my home😆. I have been wrestling with what I want, and what I can realistically care for for this last part of my life. Ur video has confirmed what I was considering-to cut out some of my gardens and add evergreens, so that I am able to maintain well, which in turn, will make me happier, and will give me more peace. Thank u!!!🌿🌺🌳

Stay with youtube! I just started following you last month or so. Although I'm in zone 6b (North Georgia mountains), all your informative is valuable to me. Trees and shrubs are for me too! I'm not necessarily lazy (?), but I'm old (!) and it's getting harder and harder to do anything.

Agree with so much that you say. And SO many useful suggestions and tips, thank you. Am in the UK and watch all of your videos so do please keep going. I know you don't have huge subscriber numbers at the moment, but its amazing how, for no obvious reason, numbers suddenly escalate. I keep a list of all of my plants too, and just when the garden seems 'almost' how you want it, something substantial will die and change an entire border. I've learnt to take these events as opportunities!

THIS! 72 and 6b in south central PA. Awesome video for me. I live up against a mountain and my humidity is high. Just ripped out 28 of my designer daylilies because I battle streak and my leaves are always ugly. Dividing is harder than it used to be. Will be using more hydrangeas, and other plants that do like it here. Had to put in deer fence years back though. Thank you for this information.😢

I just discovered your channel recently and am really enjoying your videos. I'm in the Pacific NW Z8 but find that many of the plants you talk about work in my garden too. I inherited a blank slate (read weedy mess) and have begun installing planting beds. As I too am getting older, I'm trying to include many evergreens and shrubs but also pollinator plants. Please keep making videos. I only wish there was someone for my area of the country vlogging that has your experience and knowledge.

I’m so there with less maintenance as well as winter interest/structure. I cannot keep up with the maintenance of each perennial. Trees and shrubs are my new direction. Things which survive despite the drought, humidity, extra rain, are low maintenance, and being ignored by me. Also, if trimmings are healthy, I chop and drop.
