    This video tutorial walks provides steps that outline how to change the spark plugs and spark plug wires on a 2014 GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon and many other vehicles. Some other spark plug replacement video tutorials outline the removal of the inside fender well to provide access to the spark plugs on these GMC trucks. This spark plug replacement tutorial demonstrates that the spark plugs can be removed and re-installed on a Silverado or Sierra without removing the wheel wells.

    My great great grandfather Etienne invented the spark plug and I am currently leading a top secret spark plug development ops team and everything in this video is done perfectly, this is the best spark plug tutorial on TH-cam, my GGG would agree 100%.

    This guy is fantastic and was right about everything that was done. I’m a E designer for GMC and a MIT engineer. There is not a single thing he did wrong including the anti seizing.

      I should definitely apply anti seize to the plugs? Will do, others where saying it's not necessary but I've seen an engine that's 2007ish that uses newer style plugs that has issues of the plugs seizing and breaking off.

      How do we know you have these credentials. Anyone on TH-cam can claim anything. Anti seize not required or needed.

    I don't know crap about mechanics, but this video really surprised me. My buddy just replaced my brakes, pads and rotors on my 2014 Sierra. I would have thought THAT to be a much tougher job. Nope. That was actually fun to do. This spark plug crap is crazy contortions, angles etc...I'm taking my truck to the Dealer's for this. Thanks for posting! Awesome vid.

      @TheLouisianan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the same thought. I'm about to do my brakes soon and looked at doing my own tune up, but unless you're small or really good at getting into odd angles down there this kinda work sucks and I have no patience. Brake jobs are nice with a small stool on a nice day though.

    Thank you for the video, it really helped me when installing my plugs and wires. The down side is all the crap in the way making it painful and difficult to reach the plugs. I am 68 years old and very healthy but I cut and bruised my arms , the passenger side was the worse. I will never do this again , I will gladly pay someone to do the job. I wanted to send pics of my arms, cuts and bruised from elbow to fingers.

    Very helpful, got it done today without taking the tire off! Had to remove the exhaust heat shield on both sides to better manipulate the wrenches, but it was an easy 3 bolts on each side.

    Great video. Been working on cars for 30+ but sometimes it's good to get encouragement and reminders; especially with those crazy gm connectors. Suburban/Tahoe with rear heat has hard lines right in the way of that last plug that's already impossible. I'm going to remove the fender well.

      You posted this today, so mabey you can help with a few questions, I just started coils,plugs, wires, didn't have the proper plug socket. I didn't know you could switch the heat shield out on the wires so I didn't not do so. I still have to finish by changing the plugs tomorrow when I get the proper socket. Should I put a drop of dielectric grease on the plug wire hat that connects to each plug? I'll have to put the heat shield's on the new wires as well. In the meantime will I be fine running 2ish miles to pickup a plug socket? Thank you

    That's a good tip with the fuel line, and I was trained as a mechanic. I completed about 80% of a mechanic scholarship and got married. What can I say so? I went back to the job I had. I got a new GMC 2022. It'll probably be a while before I change my plugs.

    Are the heads on a 2014 GM aluminum or cast? I have 126000 on mine and don't want them to snap off with cast iron heads. Aluminum heads are much easier as they don't seize in the heads.

    You don’t use anti seize on those plugs. The silver coating on the threads is to prevent galling. Anti seize is for old design plugs with uncoated threads.

    • @pjbuckmaster
      @pjbuckmaster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is facts. So many people now days putting anti seize on these and u don’t need to and they don’t come from the factory like that either.

      There is an engine that is famous for the plugs getting stuck. If I remember correctly I believe it's a ford or dodge engine used in SUVs. Don't quote me on that. If you know please leave a comment.

    everything is 100% accesible under hood on Psngr side, its tight but lil paitence n time its doable JUST Watch out for heater hose / heater core "plastic" connections they will snap if you Breath to hard on them.. If so not a biggie on the pick up Trucks , cut plastic tip end of hose and re attach with smater / better clamps... Escalades/ Yukons, etc on the other hand you have to deal with T connection for Rear coolant lines and plastic heater core connectors... Id love to back hand and drug test the GM Engineer who said it would be smarter / best to incorperate plastic into vital coolant connections
