    Thanks for taking the time to make the review, I think you covered all the points I wanted to know about, such a shame about that dust extraction inside! I'll have to do what you said when i get mine! :D

    hi andrew love the review covered most of my questions i had the only one that would help alot is what are over all measurements of the full setup that you have there with the upgrades please as just trying to work out if i could fit the whole thing in or have to leave the dust extraction

    Do be aware that having hard wired to the back of the inlet you will now have exposed pins in the blue socket housing. These will be live and should be covered with a secure cap to prevent curious fingers from being zapped.

    • @workshopprojects2643
      @workshopprojects2643  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is wired into the junction at the back so the pins are not live but thanks for thinking of my safety

    Great review, mate.
    On a related note: what are the rough dimensions are your shop? I am wondering whether a table of this size will comfortably fit in mine.
    Cheers

    Hi Andrew sorry to bother you again pal, I need your advice, I have just placed an order for the sliding table that's fitted to your saw, in the discription of the axminster ad it says it needs about 50mm of depth, I have a Laguna fusion 3 table saw and I would really appreciate if you could tell me how deep the sliding table is please, from table surface to just under the outrigger bolts to the side of your saw. Thankyou for all your help and keep up the brillant videos, kind regards Louie Ulster Workshops

      Louie's Workshop hi I think I understand. 25mm down from the top of the table to the center of the bolt holes

    Isn't this a Harvey HW110? That dust extraction system and that rip fence look familiar.

    • @workshopprojects2643
      @workshopprojects2643  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      wnxdarkraven not sure it could be a Harvey with Axminster name on but not sure. The dust extractor was not from Axminster

      @@workshopprojects2643 Thanks! I'm pretty sure it's a Harvey with an Axminster sticker slapped on. I'm in the market to buy a table saw and I've been looking for a decent video of this saw. Do you find the fence sturdy and accurate enough? What do you mainly use your saw/router for?

    • @workshopprojects2643
      @workshopprojects2643  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      wnxdarkraven hi the fence is very sturdy. I’m mainly cut mdf and plywood on the saw making cabinets. The sliding table fence could be improved on the measurements side of things.

    I'd like to have seen a blade change, my saw is a real faff and when I upgrade I'd like it to be easier. I have my eye on the Laguna fusion 3 as an alternative but it doesnt seem to come with a sliding table

    Hi Andrew, great video and helpful, I am considering purchasing the sliding table for my table saw, i have a Laguna fusion 3 American cabinet table saw now available in the UK and I am aware that this sliding table can be retro fitted so what's your opinion and view now pal of this option, is it a good buy and what's the plus and minus kind regards Louie Ulster Workshops

      @workshopprojects2643  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Louie's Workshop the sliding table is a great addition although the measuring slide on it could do with improvement. The measuring part of the actual table is perfect though.

    I just received mine on Friday, so far, sadly I'm not impressed. There are many many faults with this saw. Currently running it with the switch on the floor as there is nowhere to mount it on mine - the holes have not been drilled in the front rail, which is where you are supposed to put it if you don't have the sliding table, which I will, it just hasn't arrived yet???? I would go into more detail, but I'm too demoralised just now!

      Joe Atkins hang in there once you get it all set up you will like it. There is a few bits like I highlighted in the vid but these niggles aside it’s a fantastic piece of kit. Let me know how you get on or need any help.

      @@joeatkins4470 - Did you keep it? What do you think of it now, if so?

    • @joeatkins4470
      @joeatkins4470 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Wayfarer-Sailing Yes, I did end up keeping it, but it has been a long road getting it to where I want it. I still have many gripes with it, but it is serviceable. There are basic design faults with the machine that I cannot do anything about, mainly the very poor locking components - they all work loose again and again. I had the riving knife fall onto the blade recently as it's holding screw had worked loose. Also the winding handles for rise and fall and tilt both work loose again and again. The dust collection is very poor, especially the overhead dado blade guard - what a waste of money that was. It actually makes the saw less safe not more so because of how you have to push wood through the blade - hopeless. The main cabinet dust collection is pretty ropey too. The locking bolt for the cabinet door was a disaster till I removed it and replaced it with a proper closing handle. Theblade change tools are pants too - I knick my hand every time I change blades, which is often - I have made a new tool for blade changes and it works much better. The throat plate for the dado blade is not wide enough to take the full stack - I made a new one. The sliding stop on the cross cut fence is woeful, I made a new one. In it's favour, it is quiet, powerful and accurate. The sliding table is too small and needs to be better thought through. I do wish I had stuck to my original plan and bought the Felder, but shit happens. I can't afford to replace it, if I could I would in a heartbeat - not recommended - enough!

    what minimum size shop would you say your saw would fit in?

    • @workshopprojects2643
      @workshopprojects2643  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aj's Woodworking hi depends on what you want to be cutting really. For me I can cut a 8x4 sheet on it as there is just over 8ft from the rear of the blade.
      To the left side I can get a 8x4 sheet sideways if I set the fence to 600mm this way I can cut a 8x4 sheets into four pieces to manage.
      The side the router table is on is a little tight but for me this is fine.

    • @Ajwatters
      @Ajwatters 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@workshopprojects2643 I'm looking for a cabinet saw and i currently have a 12' x 16' workshop and unsure on how much space it would take up.
      i doubt i have the router table set up as planning on having that built into my workbench.

      @workshopprojects2643  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aj's Woodworking let me take some measurements for you tomorrow and Ill see how it would work if you didn’t go for the overhead guard you could push the table the router plate is on tight to the wall. Mine is as far as it can go to the wall with the overhead guard on.
