- In this video drum lesson, we teach you how to play Linkin Park's "In The End" on your drum set by breaking it down so it is easy to understand.

"In The End" Drum Lesson Breakdown - Time Stamps Included
0:59 - We begin our drum lesson at the 50-second mark of "In The End" where we break down the chorus section first
1:25 - Breakdown the crash and how to time in so that your drumming comes in at the right movement
2:00 - Go over the “prep drum stroke” that'll help you get the timing right to set you up for being on time during the rest of the section
2:48 - Breakdown what ghost notes are and how to include it in your drumming
4:11 - Breakdown how to play the section with "bass bass snare"
5:10 - We loop it back around and use the same parts we've learned so far
5:54 - During this section, you'll notice that it is very similar other than the bass drum that happens in every other measure. It'll help to review this section and count in your head so that you know when to and not to add the bass drum part
6:55 - We put everything we've learned from "In The End" together up until this point
7:05 - We go over drum phrasing / adding cymbal crashes
9:27 - If you're still having trouble with ghost notes, you can give this a try instead
10:05 - Put it all together with music

great question. technically, when the drummer plays 4 basses in a row, he also does a drag just before the 4 basses... So it would be best to either use 1 foot doing the 4 basses so you can also drag, edit the beat to an easier bass pattern = drag, or use a double bass if its too fast for you and don't do the drag.
Is there any way of me doing this with a 5pc and two cymbals. Just got drums today and really wanna do a linkin Park song.
Absolutely. If I use 6 toms or 3 cymbals, just double up on what you have, it'll work just fine
