Hi Chris, excellent review! I saw this at Blackpool and it is well constructed. Your review is thoughtful, thorough, informative, candid and enjoyable! Thank you so much for all you do! Your friend, David
Thank you Chris - I have been following your reviews more frequently and appreciate your comments. I also like to hear from others on what they think of Mental Billet. I think I'm going to save my $60 on this one. Nicely made but seems to have the same inherent problems other peek devices have such as legibility and rest. Waiting for you next review. ED
Thank you for the review. I really was wondering what other people think about this device. For me the impression is not clear enough to use it in my working repertoire. I feel I will struggle in the heat of the moment. When “clearing” the gimmick it doesn’t do it like on the tutorial, mine doesn’t stay clear but goes a little darker. Hard to explain. Does your clear well?
You’re welcome my friend. Yes mine clears well. Try doing the clearing action in the opposite direction if you haven’t already tried that. For me, going from right to left makes the gimmick dark and the impression light, and from left to right, the gimmick light and the impression dark. If your impression is not clear it could be that the gimmick (m****t) inside the marker tip is pushed in too far. I’ve had that before with other impression markers. I just removed the ink tip and pushed a paper click down to push the m*****t closer to where the tip would be writing. I hope that makes sense.
Hi Chris, thanks for the review! wanted to ask, for the gimmicked sharpie, would we eventually need to get refills once the ink runs out? or could you easily set it up/transfer it to another sharpie? Thanks in advance!
It’s a full peek the size of an open business card. My unit has been extremely legible. Like perfect. But I’ve had others comment that is not the case with theirs. I can only speak from my own personal experience though. With that said, I heard TCC was increasing the strength of the gimmick for a better outcome.
Hi Chris and thanks for an exellent review. The best peak device i´ve ever seen is John Cornelius "Thought Transmitter". Sadly it´s made of plastic, if some made that one in leather it would be my choice every day of the week. Can you please iron the backdrop you have 😉
Yeah that’s the downside of the thought transmitter for sure because the method is brilliant. I’m not sure leather would work the same.. but it would be great. Haha, the backdrop, yeah maybe this summer when it’s nice I will try and wash and air dry it outside and see if that helps. I was hoping that eventually those creases would naturally work themselves out but that hasn’t been the case.
Hi Chris. Your review was excellent and timely. Mine just came so you did me a service going over it. Will you do a review of Marked Billetts from TCC as well Your thoughts would be helpful. Thanks Don
I've had one for a few weeks now. Thought your followers may want to know a few things before buying. 1. I found the impression poor, not as good as Parapad or Psypher. Especially in low light situations and best used with a single letter, number or drawing. TCC's attentive customer service said they're making a new pen from a new supplier and will send me one...I hope it's better. Also, reset is painstaking. One has to run the pen quite slowly over the Gimmick for effective reset, something they highlight in the tutorial. They also pitch it as an Out To Lunch prop and a surface for a swami. Not sure simpler approaches for those aren't better.
Thank you for the comment! My impression is very clear. I actually had someone else ask me so I sent them a video. One of the issues I’ve had in the past with impression markers is that the m*****t is pushed too far into the tip. That was pyspher for me. I jus removed the tip and pushed the m*****t down more so it was closer to the writing surface and that solved the issue for me.
Oh and another thing regarding reset. The m*****t for reset is on one side of the ink cartridge. What I did was make a little mark on that side so I know it’s the stronger side and reset is instant for me.
Heyy sorry I wouldn’t have that video anymore. After so long I usually delete videos I don’t need to keep space on my phone. If you take needlenose pliers and pull the felt tip out, then you can take a sewing needle to push the magnet from the other end closer to the top. That should make your impression more clear as the attraction will be stronger.

Hey! My pleasure. So it should just me a matter of taking the ink cartridge/tube from one sharpie and replacing it in the gimmicked sharpie.
@ thanks so much :)
@FaNDastiKmagic you’re welcome :)
It's an awesome review 😊☘️🍀☘️😊👍👏
Thank you!!
How legible is the reveal/peek?

Hey Don, thank you my friend! I do have the marked billets but haven’t watched the tutorial yet. I will try and make that my next task :)
@ChrisEdwardsMagic excellent Chris. Look forward to it. Thank you my friend. Hope to meet you sometime 😊
You’re welcome, likewise my friend :)

@@ChrisEdwardsMagic Hi Chris, could i trouble you to send me this video? I feel my impression on the pad aren't very strong, thanks :)

Do they credit B smith and parapad?
I’d have to rewatch the tutorial to find out, I can’t remember who was credited. I’ll try and do that tonight if I get a chance man.
