Hi: This video popped up on my feed. Great info, and i do use the techniques you talked about here. I also use a variety of other training methods, depending on the situation, the dog, and the person I'm working with. Anyway, the thing that I like is your use of treats; I like that you use treats as a lure instead of a bribe, something that a lot of people mistake. I know some trainers are hugely against treats, just as others are against different types of collars, but there's a place for them if used correctly, and I do think food can be a powerful motivator... of course that's assuming that the human has taken the time to build a connection with the dog first.
Yuna, 5 years-old, some kind of shepherd mix, she 30kg, and we are working on dog reactivity, starting with loose leash walking and stress free walks. :) a long road ahead of us.
Perhaps a long road, but definitely worth it 😊 Fynn and Kiki (the dogs in this video) are also dog reactive/aggressive. I'll be sharing more of their videos for that as soon as I get them done and will add them to my full reactivity training playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLiUh57UCWpFGNNZWupCOccAHlFO6z9qZJ.html
Watson, he's a Lakeland Terrier, 2 years old. Reactivity towards dogs. He certainly stalls when we're walking or he tends to walk slower, the total opposite of when he sees a dog.
Fynn's the same! I was actually hired to help his reactivity towards dogs, bikes, skateboards, etc (I'll be sharing his reactivity videos later), but while working with him I noticed how much he also stalls on walks. He sure found energy when a trigger was present though! 😂 If you haven't already watched it, I'd suggest checking out this tutorial I have on training neutrality to other dogs: th-cam.com/video/-O1u3T3zS2M/w-d-xo.html. I think it'll help!
I always love how happy and engaged all the dogs you're working with are in your videos. They look so excited to work with you, it makes me smile! As a dog trainer, I am currently working with 3 clients! -Hank a nine-week-old black lab puppy -Sam a 3-year-old pug on loose leash walking -Baxter a 2-year-old plott hound with reactivity towards bearded men :) Also, just a friendly idea for a possible future video I'd love to see...how you address window barking at neighbors, mailmen, etc. I've seen a lot of trainers approach it in different ways and I'm super curious how you approach it!
Great question! Does your dog show interest in treats/food at home, but not out on walks? If so, it's likely a threshold issue. Watch this: Effective Dog Training Begins with Understanding Dog Threshold th-cam.com/video/G1UVxRIBMEs/w-d-xo.html

THANK YOU! You have no idea how long I've been looking for a video like this
This is really great, thanks!!! Makes so much sense. I'm going to start working on this on our walk with our notorious staller this afternoon 😊
So glad you liked the video! I hope it helps 😊
Good, detailed set of instructions
Thanks! I try to make sure I don't miss any potential steps or training mistakes 😊

@@happyhoundsdogtraining Thanks for responding! I'll definitely check it our
How did you know this is exactly what I’m struggling with?? Thank you!
So glad it was what you needed! 😁
Does this work with a dog as stubborn as a shiba inu?
1:55 the force is with her
😂 Correct reference!
Okay I got my dog away from the home but if we turned around then she started pulling like grazy to get home fast :(

What if the dog doesn't take treats on walks?
