    Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
    I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning.

    Very good explanation of use Carl. I purchased a Joyner jig probably 10 yrs ago from Ruth. Still have not used, no good excuse. Good motivation to dust off & make some shavings. Good video.

    Interesting piece of equipment. It looks like the patterns and shapes possible are endless. It might be difficult keeping track of setup's for any kind of complex production run though. But at $98 it's not terribly expensive. Might be worth the price to play around with a bit. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

    Nice tool for off center turning for smaller projects. I have a Axminster off center turning chuc that will works for bigger projects. It will do the off set turning is a straight or circular profile. Both are much of the same concept and are alie in you have to change the chuck for each pattern you use in the design such as stacked coins in a spiral stack or a flat planed stack. Great for different effects on projects.

    Just bought the jig. Using dubblesided tape does not work, what is it I'm doing wrong?

    • @CarlJacobson
      @CarlJacobson  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi George, are you using pressure sensitive tape? I use a brand called Spectape. I've never had a piece come off. Give me a call when you get a chance.

      @@CarlJacobson Thnx for your quici reply. No I just use Tesa doublesided tape. so I will try pressure sensitive tape, but spectape is not available in the NL. So is it on a acrylic base or rubber?

    When you say hot glue, do you mean the glue sticks crafters buy at WalMart craft department? Or is there a hot glue made for woodworking? Thank you.

    • @CarlJacobson
      @CarlJacobson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes Just regular crafters hot glue, but you need to have one of the large guns that really heats the glue up!

    Usually i like all of Carl’s turnings. This one, I’m not too sure of really. The gizmo doesn’t seem very intuitive. Seems like there are easier ways to make one off pendants. So, this one is probably my first thumb’s down. 🤷‍♂️

      @jessetutterrow4320 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a free spreadsheet you can download (www.huntcountywoodturners.org/how-to-2) that will show you what the pendent will look like before you turn it.
