Apples. Onions. Okra. Lemon's. Im gonna make some buttermilk cornbread. Fry some okra slice a tomato. Cook some peas. Sweet tea. Yummm

I figured it was ms from the pine trees lol. I can remember when I was but a lil boy and me and my mawmaw went out and picked them peas. Then hulled 90% of them. The others we threw in whole or cut for flavor. An all day job was so very worth it. Ox tails goes well too. Gotta trim the fat though.

@@HomeInTheSticks cornbread is easy Dan just practice. 11/2 cups corn meal 1/2 half cup AP flour 1/2 cup sugar two tsp baking powder. One cup milk, one stick of butter two eggs 1tsp salt, and 1/3 cup of olive oil. Melt your butter before mixing everything. Preheat your oven to 350 and put your cornbread mix in a greased pan i use a cast iron skillet but any pan will do. Then just watch it till its golden brown on top about a half hour or so.

I was raised to cook with less seasoning. So for those that like simple cooking, I add only 3 ingredients. A little cooking oil or a thick slice of salt pork, washed well to remove the salt. When done I add salt and a tiny bit of sugar. My cooking technique is the same as yours. A great video Dan. My collards are planted and growing!😃. Thank you so much!❤️🙏❤️

For long-term, pet and farm safe pest control, I suggest baking soda, flour, water and corn meal. Make some balls and let harden. Rats will eat and go away to die. They can't burp or toot.

I normally cook the peas down and add the seasoning towards the END of the cooking time, taste and adjust the seasoning from there!! Are you adding chicken stock to the peas? The stock will add sodium/salt to the peas as well so always taste before adding more seasoning!! Hope this answers your question!! Dan

Dammed skippy brother. I love them. I used to think they were the best. Then I discovered Zipper peas, or zipper cream peas. If you haven't grown or eaten them, you have to try them.
Unbelievable temperatures! We've cooled down quite a bit here actually too much but the temps are expected to go back up, way up. These peas are something my mom loved to cook with the snaps, never tried this specific recipe, thanks for sharing your recipe, it looks delicious.

You can substitute kidney beans for peas using all the same other ingredients and you'll have good red beans and rice. Add some hot sauce when you take it off the heat. Good stuff! :)

You can use as much or as little sugar you like or leave it out completely. Just work with it till you get that perfect flavor for you.

I was raised to cook with less seasoning. So for those that like simple cooking, I add only 3 ingredients. A little cooking oil or a thick slice of salt pork, washed well to remove the salt. When done I add salt and a tiny bit of sugar. My cooking technique is the same as yours. A great video Dan. My collards are planted and growing!😃. Thank you so much!❤️🙏❤️

For long-term, pet and farm safe pest control, I suggest baking soda, flour, water and corn meal. Make some balls and let harden. Rats will eat and go away to die. They can't burp or toot.

I normally cook the peas down and add the seasoning towards the END of the cooking time, taste and adjust the seasoning from there!! Are you adding chicken stock to the peas? The stock will add sodium/salt to the peas as well so always taste before adding more seasoning!! Hope this answers your question!! Dan

Unbelievable temperatures! We've cooled down quite a bit here actually too much but the temps are expected to go back up, way up. These peas are something my mom loved to cook with the snaps, never tried this specific recipe, thanks for sharing your recipe, it looks delicious.

You can substitute kidney beans for peas using all the same other ingredients and you'll have good red beans and rice. Add some hot sauce when you take it off the heat. Good stuff! :)
