I think that's what's called a baptism of fire :). Yeah, the downside of Winter hillwalking is that kind of thing, but the frosty and snowy days make up for it. One thing I forgot to mention last time in the list of Winter gear that I am never without : gaiters ! To be honest, they are often needed here in Scotland in Spring and Summer in some terrain. A bit of a faff to put on and off, but amazingly good at stopping the rush of water into the top of the boots when you inevitably sink in at some point on a wet trail. At least you only had a very short yomp to the top for this one though !
Just wondering what hiking boots you both use in those conditions? I really need a pair that won’t let in the wet 💚 any recommendations would be really helpful thanks
I have a pair of Meindl boots that I love. They’re not super stiff - not a full on mountaineering boot - but I find them really great ☺️ My only problem is when my leg goes into the bog so deep that the water gets in the top 😂 I know gaiters could fix that problem, just haven’t committed to getting them yet - ellie
"Carl is so funny, like actually hilarious. We should go for a hike with them some day" The conversation we had watching :) Love it guys!
Colours of the foliage so wonderful, the profiled trees wow looks like real Ireland beautiful 🎉
Thank you! Yes I think there’s magic to the wild and wet parts ♥️
Best use of a great outdoors buff I've seen, truly a multifunctional piece of kit!
How did you get the camera muck off before putting it back on your head?
Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answer to … 👀🤣 but yes, a buff to do everything!
You could have just said you had two 😜
Great walking guys , love your tips
Thanks Pamela! 😄
I had similar weather doing Knockboy two weeks ago, mucky, misty & wet. Good to get it done though.

Enoy the vids thanks. We're (2+3) trying the CHP too. Arderin our next one. We will try Arderin Loop via Glendine Gap. 9.5km Hope its not as wet!
I hope no one ever experiences it in as wet conditions as we did 😆 Will have to loop up that loop for the next time
I’m down there 😃
