We're looking at a new Casino, and another copper mine. Copper creek. and the expansion of the Ray mine. There is also a gold mine on the back side of Mount Lemon. The Jobs pay well, and land prices are cheap. It's alot better then some parts.
It's not a ghost town, I drove through there in February right before my family moved. It's still alive and happy, but God how I miss that road and the scenery!
I loved to swim in the river by this town. I would blow up cow patties with M-80's and the town cop would show up and ask if we heard gun fire? LoL ps if he looked at a calender he would see the date was July 4th! The day where we Americans learn how to blow shot up! But very cool video! ! Thank you Sir for posting!
WOW you have a picture of my great grand mothers house the beige stucko on your video! She lived right across the street from the Lions Club! Her name was Guadalupe Verdugo. A lot of great memories in that house when I was little!!!
Mammoth is not a ghost town! Although it's historic downtown area (which this video documents) is abandoned, it's not a true ghost town. In fact it still has a mayor, a fire and a police department. I'm a local..... Yes it's historic downtown area is pretty much boarded up. But this is mostly a result of the Highway 77 bypass which diverted traffic from the heart of Mammoth to the outskirts. After the bypass was built the downtown area slowly started to dwindle. The closure of BHP Mine (formerly MAGMA Mine) was the final nail in the coffin for the downtown Mammoth area. A few years after the mine closure pretty much all the businesses were boarded up in the old downtown area. The post office remains in the downtown area. Typically a community is not classified as a "ghost town" until after the closure of the US Post Office following a major population decline. (Not enough residence for a post office to serve). When this happens postal service is usually moved to a nearby community for any remaining residence. To day the towns businesses are found along Highway 77 (the bypass). Although there are some boarded of businesses on the highway, there are several restaurants, a gas station, a dollar store, a church, a couple auto mechanics as well as a few other small businesses tucked in. So this video is accurate showing the old abandoned downtown Mammoth area. But Mammoth is far from a ghost town.
I just passed through mammoth went to Catalina az to visit my mom and family then went to the Gila River in Winkleman I'm from Cali and live In Cali but my mom has kids up there from a Lopez and my sisters is married to a Pallanes oh and lil sis is with a Rodriguez I think they're tied into the la casita place
@@geraldsandoval6688 you’re the mental case. Never figured out what she saw in you but a celebration when she oust you out of our life!! You are still a scumbag
Love the video but this town is beautiful with beautiful people and homes you chose to only tape the old buildings lol but I still liked the video . lots of history here!
Noticed you only took pictures of the lower parts of town, with the older sites. You just left out the best places on Hwy 77. Baseball field, Circle K , new Dollar General Store. La Casitist Restraunt. Mammoth Towing, Didn't even photograph all the New side walks, or schools. I think you are just a little bias, only protraying what you want others to think.
Southern Fisherman It’s an awesome place to buy fresh food. In a grocery desert. There when you request a cut of meat. The butcher does it in front of you. They serve Oracle SanManuel and Mammoth.
Did you even ask permission to take pictures of the properties because you didn’t ask my family to take pictures of ours and I see my property in your video

I think ghost towns are admirable ...just think of all them memories and what ever left behind is a glimpse of poetry....of life before

The owners of "La Casita" were my in-laws for a few years. Their food was good but my wife was a mental witch.

You should come back and film now that Copper Creek is being mined again. It isn’t for copper either.
This song should be on a film if ever done on my book titled "IT'S OVER'
I just seen that ranchero meat market and a little mex place next to circle k where it looked like they were cooking mex food

It’s a hole in the ground town
Do not like people filming mammoth and making it out to be a ghost town.. people still live here and enjoy the small town life.
The music ruined what could have been a good video.
Did you even ask permission to take pictures of the properties because you didn’t ask my family to take pictures of ours and I see my property in your video
