My, my Fran. This is just lovely. Thank you for your effort restoring it to show it! If only it played in my country as a 1960s school kid, i'd have likely understood fractions way sooner that the complicated fog & confusion my school teacher provided under then State Syllabus....

Sometimes understanding is tricky, things may look better explained and they could truly be, but only when we already understand the concept. Then there are definitely some statements that unlocks the understanding of something much better than others. Traditional ways of teaching anything were assumed to be well explained by their first creators. some were and some weren't.

That was so imaginative and creative. People clearly invested a lot of thought and effort into explaining a subject that trips up a lot of kids (like me), and weaving it into an entertaining story. The animation and narration are just quirky enough to be engaging.

Arbitrary integers are weird. Especially when there is no year called zero. Year one has taken its place. Even the negative integer years can’t have year zero.
It’s a conundrum. A number line with no zero. Think about it.

If it was produced for the UK it is strange that it refers to the fraction 5/4 as 'Five Fourths'. Here in the UK we NEVER say Fourths, we only ever say 'Quarters'
