- Creating encaustic collagraph prints made from Wagner Encasutic Collagraph White and printing them onto dampened Encaustiflex, a microfiber paper-like fabric with Akua Intaglio Inks.
Wow, very cool! I stumbled upon your video when I was looking for different things I can with wax! Thank you!
Thanks so much, Elise! I find your videos so very helpful...
Thanks Jen!
That is so great to hear, I'm glad you get a lot out of my videos!
Elise that was so interesting! Thanks for the video... Irene
Thank you Irene!
Ohhh I'm excited.... tried collagraphing using found materials on my local beach (it's kinda post industrial so we find a great mixture of flotsam and jetsam that can be gathered) we also have a wonderful array/mixture of geology from rocks brought into the local harbour as ballast for the collier ships that shipped coal out from the Durham coast all over the world) I have been desperately looking for a way to combine all these inspirations with my recent discovery of encaustic painting... and this may well be it! Thank yo so much for sharing your process...
Sure! Thank you so much for your message. I also teach encaustic painting in my Portland, Oregon studio and make a collagraph wax that you can use for prints. Do you have a press? You can find more info about the wax here www.elisewagner.com/purchasewax/collagraph-white
Hi Elise - I think I made a mistake with my press purcahse - (Fome school press £200!) It's too small and having no success with collagraphs so far. I think I will just have to bite the bullet and go for a heftier one? ideally I would like to work to 30 x 30cms....
Thank you for the link about the wax... I don't suppose encaustiflex is available anywhere in the UK yet?
@@AquaMerleau Hi, sorry for the late reply. I am not familiar with that type of press. But I did want to direct you to the Encaustiflex website, you might be able to order from there. www.encaustiflex.com/ Good luck with your future tries with encaustic collagraph and I hope that you found the right press!
Please tell us about your etching press and any suggestions you have for purchasing one without totally breaking the bank. Enjoyed your video. Thx much, best regards, E
Hi Edith, My press is a Takach Etching Press, 24" x 48" bed. You can sometimes find used ones on the Takach website and, Conrad Press Company has some smaller reasonably priced presses.
Inspirational and just what I've been seeking thank you ... How do we get you to Townsville, Queensland, Australia? ;-)
Hi Faith, Great, I am glad you like the video. I would suggest finding a printmaking facility in Queensland that hosts classes of visiting artists and have them get in touch with me to submit a proposal. I would need to most likely need to borrow some hotplates!
