- Pickwick Lake and any Tennessee River impoundment can be very tough during the Fall transition. That's exactly what we found while practicing for the MLF BFL Regional bass tournament on Pickwick Lake. Day 1 was very tough but day 2 was promising, with some very solid fish catches.

Gabe Goodluck,I have fishing a power plant lake and have been doing great. This lake has a lots of grass and I found a floating Rat Trap I have had years and that worked great. Gabe good luck.

It's been tough last few times out here they started biting again last time out. I think they started transition messed them up.

Nice fish Gabe you should be proud. Pickwick is by far one of if not the hardest lakes to fish. I'm originally from
Arkansas but have lived in Tennessee a decade and half not far from the lake. Noticed you crossed the Mississippi at Dyresburge , what state do you live in? If your ever in western Arkansas and have a chance to fish Dequeen lake it has quality bass as I used to fish it when I lived in Mena. Thanks for the vid, I don't feel so sorry for myself now when I strike out on Pickwick.

I fished this tournament as a boater, and it was definitely tough to just get a bite. Luckily I found an area during practice that had fish but I fished a ton of dead water during practice. I just found your channel and I’ve watched a couple of the videos. You have a good thing going here man you are obviously a good fisherman and do a great job breaking everything down on camera! Congratulations on making the regional tournament. I’m not gonna cheat and look where you finished so I’ll wait to watch it here.

Did you encounter any Asian carp? Any locals talking about the carp impacting Pickwick?
I did not see any but I'm sure there are some in there. The topic never came up.
Kentucky lake used to be my jam but the last few years has been toughest I have ever seen. Lake of the Ozarks has been hot the last few trip.
Kentucky is getting better but it's still tough. LOZ has a healthy population of fish for sure.
