Still Awesome in JANUARY 2023
Years after posting...folks are still enjoying the sh*t outta this set -- just incredible the musicianship. & yes, Jon Cowerd is amazing...love his voice & how he channels so much that came before him...
I had this TH-cam mix on all night...I occurred to me this morning that John and Alice Coltrane came back as a jazz group...
Brian Blade Fellowship. If I never travel to see other countries, all the beauty that Nature provides or forget to pray I, can at least say "I hear and feel it in this music"....this is way beyond jazz folks.
357CLOUDY Black Feather This is amazing music indeed
@Jerry Vdm ...and how about you?
@Jerry Vdm With such a brainless comment, it seems all u ever do is "occur to yourself" with a jar of vaseline.
Beautiful - just magic!
Love this guys drumming.
I concur, he can play a lot of riffs within a measure without ''over-playing''. His ability to get as many colors and tones from the drums and cymbals has always amazed me. But then again, that's the mark of a great drummer, to hit the 'skins' and cymbals with skill and passion. I play guitar, but have always admired what drummers and percussionists do to create the drive and pace of a song or a score of music. Don't believe me? Take the percussion out of the finale of 'The Barber of Seville' by Rossini and you'll see what I mean.
this is some incredible shit man. Myron Walden I knew sounded amazing but this is also truly divine in this group... Hadn't heard of Melvin Butler, but now I sure have. Thanks for this lovely stuff mates. Cheers

Beautiful. Just beautiful.
the first song is Prodigal Son ... and yes Jon Cowherd is amazing
I'm totally into this band.
This band is new to me although I have heard a lot about the great Brian Blade. A terrific group and playing with feeling. I think some of these guys could be become much more well known. Brian's enthusiasm is infectious and maybe he is another natural leader-like Art Blakey.
Wonderful music, touches your very heart and soul!
I was just telling my girlfriend last night how much the first track kills me... Jon Cowherd's chord structure on the little intro with Myron is ridiculous...
^This guy fucks
Such tasty compositions, i love this group.
Gorgeous and well-balanced.
This rendition of Prodigial Son is one of my favorite performances ever. Blade + Cowherd are incredible
Great compositions 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Amazing Grace! Beautiful solo by John Cowherd. What a great arrangement!
This concert still gives me the chills, to this day! :)
Best thing in life
THANK YOU SO MUCH MATE! THIS IS OF SO MUCH RICHNESS!! First song kills me everytime!!
the best!!!
Incredible - When I grow - up I hope to play like this!!
You better start practising 12 hours a day and maybe just maybe if you have what it takes
Myron Walden sounds more like a tenor than an alto. Just beautiful!!!...wonderful group.
magnifique. sublime.
very good to relax and take a bath too! love it!
+Mark ONeill wow, you sure know how to communicate with the ladies, you dirty beast you
well, dirty would be taking a bath with clothes on. Anyway, all strange comments here. How relaxing is this ? This is fucking exciting! Fuck (in) the bath !
Quel bonheur ! Merci .
🙏🎷🎺🥁🎹🎵
Top 3 jazz acts currently active in my humble opinion, Brian Blade and whoever it is he has assembled at the time, The Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet and Phronesis. In no particular order
I definitely do, check out the Mama Rosa live concert, it is phenomenal as well. Peace.
handsome grooves - yes indeed!
What a great band!!
The return of prodigal son, from the Season of Changes album.
Some heavy Coltranism going on there ,
Love their playing

ブライアン・ブレイドのドラミングは、最高です。
Thank U:)
Killa Ass Musicianship&Compostions!!! A++
i love it!!
Great!
at 21:30 -- damn... Cowerd is crushing the blues... & those folks are just standing there...not a single head going w/ that on-fire solo!! I can barely sit still in my seat -- c'mon ya'll... don't you recognize serious blues swing when you hear it?!? Germans...a seriously serious bunch.
25:30 and on
There are 3400 known emotions in the English language, & BB's Fellowship taps just about all of'm, eazy-breezy.
Sounds in sync to me. This is a 50fps video so there may be a possibility of your flash plugin not being able to keep up.
No worries. Great upload. A++
I wish I could reply to it now, but to the person who said Eric Harland on sax, you just cracked me up.
With Kurt Rosenwinkel on piano.
Amazing performance but what the heck is up with this compression
Yoo granda Fábio! :D Man tenho que tirar aqueles primeiros acordes lol
greatest bass clarinet solo ever 27:57
“Live by the Sword”, the second song, in what album can this beauty be found??? 🤩
I haven't found it in any recording..:(
51:25. Dat joy.
That upward riff around 17:00
The second song, where could I find it? Which album?
Thanks!
so beautiful, but why is the alto doing all the solos?
56:39
Hearing a lot of Elvin in this guy.
Does anyone know the name of the first song?
the lick @ 4:40, 20:03, and 21:37
4:40 The lick
el audio esta desfasado... corrijan-lo !
Nothing like watching Brian Blade drumming while the video plays out of sync.
Ha! Its a sad thing, I agree; but hey, only one thing to be done about it: close our eyes and listen to the music!
20:04 the lick
When do the saxophonists in general will stop to show their soloing skills , they could make music :(
Eric Harland on Sax.
Melvin butler
◆オーバー洗練、Pのバッキング&コード付け? 当方には、誠に「残念な結果」と・・・合掌。
