The total package: speed with hands and feet, amazing vocabulary, wonderful listener throughout the ensemble, chops that don't stop, and sensitivity to each dynamic change. Larnell, you're the standard by which I now measure drumming.
It's been years since I've played seriously, but watching you makes me want to pick up my sticks again. At this stage in my life, I'll never accomplish musically what you have and will yet, but your playing is just inspirational.

The level of mastery where you think, I dont see whats the big deal, and then you realize you dont notice anything because *EVERY THING IS PERFECT*
Dynamics that can turn on a dime, incredible dexterity and fills that wont budge his metronome like pocket, and expression thats both versatile and wildly appropriate in any and all given situation,
    This is frightening

The way he delivers his chops and groove in such a musical way its outrageous, completely crazy, the way he always finds a way to place jazz in the pieces he plays the way he transitions the from the toms to the snare back and forth is just crazyyyy, before i came across him, and i used to be so concerned and fascinated by speed and chops this drummer right here make me realize its not everything even while hes speeding up hes process while playing its to clear, i used to love drummers that just had crazy chops all these drummers i looked at.. i dont want to mention names to put anyone down. after ive seen him i truly know limit is the sky, wide sight on how to visualise the drums and how to play em . just crazyyy

How am I seeing this for the first time 6 years after it was recorded???
I discovered you with Snarky Puppy's "We Like It Here", and became an instant fan. However, this launched my impression of you into a whole 'nother orbit - you've made me feel the same way I felt when I discovered Joel Rosenblatt on Michel Camilo's "On Fire" back in the early 90s.
And, as a 50 yr old jaded drummer, I didn't think I'd ever hear/see anything like that experience again. Thank you :)

Not sure how I didn't see this before today but I'm completely blown away by the musicality, creativity, and mastery! I need to watch this over and over before my brain can catch all that was done. AND THIS WAS 8 YEARS AGO?!?

A lot of things blow my mind with this but in particular the passage between 2:12 and 2:30 is probably a great insight of how Larnell learns/listen to every element and decides when/how to highlight certain things. So much to learn and I'm not even a drummer.
P.S. The decision to let the cymbal ring for 2 whole beats at 4:24. Just perfect.

I love this view and sound of the drums. Pure live. This is real. Dynamics. Musicality. And the talent of the drummer
