Not really tbh , if you REALLY want to see scary music. Look at the Miklos Rozsa cello concerto. There’s a line where the cello line has *2 Staves* (like a piano)
I also love Slava's version. It was the version where he played it in a White House concert. He literally didn't care if he missed a couple notes. To the ears of the normal listeners, it was still energetic and impressive. Taught me a lot about confidence and how it really changes the perception of a performer on stage. ANYHOW I LOVE THIS RENDITION TOO! Think I watched it a couple hundred times in high school. lol.
Who's idea was it to show only the right hand from 2:19 onward? I mean come on, that's arguably the most interesting place for the left hand in this piece...😅
@@IliaLaporevcellistor a smart camera man, not showing any mistakes. Or non musicians think tremolo is hard so maybe that's why they focused on his bow
Julian Steckel practices 40hrs a day. That is insane the way he can play at thumb positions that fast without hitting wrong notes. I would hit all the wrong notes at a quarter of the speed. Even the bowing is articulate. I try to attempt to spiccato like that, and I'd sound like a certain sacrilegious boi on electric something-or-other.
I played that piece before. Didn’t remember how I began. And as I pinned my own comment, if this video reaches 5k likes, it will be my turn to record and upload. No idea how to start lol, so basically I just shot myself in my leg.
Hino 106 CCB. Gostaria muito de ouvir
This video gets 5k likes, I will make my version 🔥 Watch this video next: th-cam.com/video/jYmb7PX9US0/w-d-xo.html
Better get ready to make your version because it gets more than 10k likes soon... 😂😂🎉
YES
@remypa Oh no!! 🤪
@@IliaLaporevcellist this video already got 10k views in 6 days, trust me 😂
@remypa Yes I see! 🤪
I bought the whole fingerboard so I am going to use the whole fingerboard
That’s the spirit!
Crazy thing is that at some points the notes were so high that his fingers weren’t even on the fingerboard 😳
Great! 👏👏👏
Plus a little extra
I didn't even know we could play that high💀😭
@Delta-Velocity Yes exactly lol. As you wrote: 👉🏻💀
Prokofiev “cello concerto” last few bars will horrifies you then ❤
Cello doesn't transpose an octave, does it? Then that's higher than I can currently play on the violin 😅
@kumo-kun1831 You mean the Symphony Concertante? That’s hell on earth…but gorgeous music 🙏🏻
@@hannahschneyder6651 frankly not sure whether this is even possible on violin because cellists have thumb position and we dont
The hand holding the bow....wow. the movement was amazing.
@joshuak9412 Yes, pretty impressive! But the cellist (Julian Steckel) is also one of the best of his generation.
Yes! It looks so elegant, despite the (according to my opinion) hard work...
@jvr2403 He for sure practiced 40h a day for this!
@@IliaLaporevcellistTotally!!! I have so much respect and admiration for that kind of dedication!
You know it's bad when it's a *cello* piece in *treble clef*
Bro hasn’t discovered solo double bass repetoire yet 👀

@nathanrock9269 same thing for the second Saint-Saëns concerto
@@nathanrock9269check out the ending of shostakovich 1 too.
and it has like 6 ledger lines 😭
That's higher than my flute playing 💀
😂
0:24 The fingers are beyond the finger board already 😱

wow that's he plays in high violin range better than violins do
Fun Fact: David Popper's dissonant compositions have been used for Texas state competitions for the past few years
If you can play it slowly you can play ot quickly
You know, believe it or not, it’s kind of true!
Twosetters
And if you can play it quickly, you can play it slowly! 😂
One can say that... he popped off
That fingerboard is really giving more than it has to give
I’m gonna play cello literslly everyday just so I can do this.
Instantly knew it was Popper’s Elfentanz from the thumbnail 😂
🤣🤣🤣
just incredible!! definitely not a conscious process anymore while playing :D
Thank you Popper
- Popper: you are welcome!
So amazing💚💚🎶 I need to practice more.
Same here! 🤪
Proof the the cello is a better violin.
That’s the spirit! We have to keep the cello fresh and alive 🔥🔥🔥
my favorite violin piece
oh wait it's cello
😂😂😂
It doesnt sound like a violin on high notes, sounds more like a viola
@@rogerio7546 true, it doesn't sound quite as bright as a violin
We love elfentaz (dance of the elves)!!
Despite of being a very tricky piece, I love this piece as well. Great as an encore after a recital!
Higher, faster and more in tune than my piccolo will ever be🤣🤣
😆😆😆
I remembered he took class from mr starker when he was study at kronberg academy
Yes indeed! Isn’t there somewhere a video on TH-cam of this masterclass? Kronberg…was there in 2007 or 2008, also with Mr. Starker!
Amazing
I love the feeling of 0:42

I'm not ready to put my whole life on it 😂
Me neither! 💀
Ótimo. Muito bom.

Wauw, that was fast! I think who breaks the record is the Israeli cellist Gavriel Lipkind!
Yes indeed! Omg, Lipkind played that so fast, I have that CD, it’s mind blowing!
Isn’t the Prokofiev Sinfonia-Concertante finale higher?
How do you even BEGIN to practice this...

I did not hear wrong notes. Perhaps a little scratch here, or a note that is too high, but no wrong notes. Sorry..
