Also after all that, the Shokan fight to decide thier next ruler and Sheeva beats Kintaro and other Shokan which is how she becomes Queen Sheeva.

Yeah the fights overall in the new movie were VERY underwhelming, compared to the fights in the original 1995 version (especially the Johnny vs Scorpion and Liu Kang vs Reptile fights, which are still awesome today).

This is pretty solid storytelling for a Mortal Kombat game. I might be a bit biased though, the reboot feels targeted at fans who dropped out after around MK3, which I am definitely one of. Still, the mix of nostalgia and new twists / developments in this series is pretty entertaining. Loving the reactions
To answer your question about the significance of Sonya calling Johnny by his first name, is that prior to that scene, she always referred to him as just "Cage" or "Mr. Cage". It was a way of being aloof & keeping him at arms' length, basically letting him know that their relationship was strictly professional. Her calling him by his first name is a game changer to him, since it says that she's beginning to view him in a more intimate light.
These cut scenes are amazing..I have never watched hour long videos except for Joe Rogan or Lex Friedman..I find you guys to be relaxed and really enjoying them..looking forward to more..
9, X, and II are gold when it comes to the story mode. I watched the full cutscene 3 times and still enjoy each time. It gives so much detail and back story to the games and characters Wish the movies were based off this just do this alexact same thing on big screen 9 loved how Sindel came n destroyed the whole hero squad and then them all coming back. 10 added more characters improving on backstories and bringing some of good guys back 11 you will see pure gold material
Fujin is the wind god like Raiden is the lightning god. He was introduced in MK4 this is also his first appearance since being introduced in 4. Kenji I believe first showed up in Deadly Alliance.
Cassie and her team aren't children they are all in there 20s, Jin might even be 30 though we don't have exact ages other than Cassie and Jacqui are 25 in this game.
Wouldn't surprise me if neatherrealm studios hired stunt artists for the mokap on this I know in the 1995 film both cris cassmasa and Francois petit were both 8th and 9th degree black belts
