I can't help but see, in the year 2020, how far e-sports broadcasting has come. A lot of the outside-the-game elements are cool, but the fact the game remains absolutely tiny for the vast majority of the match so we can see the players staring at the screen is deeply frustrating, it's hard to even see what they're doing a lot of the time.
Seeing the way the blue player plays, I'm surprised he got as far as he did. He pretty much stacked the bottom every time. The other player was much more unpredictable, even launching a few early heavy chains and coming out of a few scrapes. All I'm saying is, you have to have some back-up methods if your initial approach doesn't pan out. If you cover the bottom row with about 2 layers of ojama, the blue player would have been hard-pressed to have come up with something else quickly.

Good thing that we still have Sega making these Puyo Puyo games for us. This game may not be popular in the USA at that time but it surely was popular in Japan so Compile should be receiving lots of money for this.
If I remember right...They weren't the best with Money, but they took out a lot of loans and overextended, then gave the rights to Sega 'temporarily' to ease their burden, but were unable to prevent their bankruptcy. As a result, Sega kept the rights ever since. They later reformed into Compile Heart, and have been working on a bunch of JRPGs like Fairy Fencer F and the Neptunia series.
