Ep24 - Restoring 50 Year Old Gelcoat - 3 Techniques

After the mediocre outcome of trying to clean my boat last time, I'm having another go. This time putting three different techniques to the test to see if I can bring a bit of pizzazz back to Perrochet's 50 Year old Gelcoat.

Thanks for the video, great try. Unfortunately, I have not yet found a better way to clean the old Ecume gelcoat.

Thanks! Yeah it was a bit of a disaster really. It's very difficult to tell how much dirt is engrained in the gelcoat versus how much of it is micro cracks that can't be cleaned. I put a pressure washer on it today and just jet washed the whole deck down! Not sure why I didn't start with that approach really! It did take a lot of the non-slip paint off though!

Could be possible to sand and paint with gelcoat again. I would like to do the same in my little Mariner.😢
