- SIB Fishing on a perfect morning with plenty of Cod caught on soft plastic lures. The North Sea was kind on this trip with virtually no wind and crystal clear water, I had good sport with a DAM 29g Effzett Kick-S Weedless minnow and a Rovex Integra Gold 6ft kayak rod that I had repaired due to a broken tip, the repair held good and the performed surprisingly well.
Love the videos Wayne
Great vid..looking forward to your boat setup vid…
Great video! Next venture is a fish bar in the lower garden! 👍
Cheers mate - now that is a good idea😃 This is the channel I was telling you about th-cam.com/users/Youngbloods
Great video Wayne, boat looks great 👍
Cheers mate😎👍🏻
Love the Takacat! Great fun boats!! Nice to see the Cod coming in too.. 😃
Thanks,it certainly is fun but it’s a Truekit Discovery not a Takacat. They’re similar and both designed in New Zealand.
I’ve subbed to your channel 👍🏻.
@@TheHopefulAngler thank you!! That is a quick boat! I watch them racing here and they are insane! I like that you have so much room for fishing from it!
@@ChunkyPuffinSeaFishing I still need to fully figure out how I will lay things out but it is quite spacious for such a small boat👍🏻
Stunning and I've just subscribed to your channel
Fantastic, Thank you for the Subscription👍
@@TheHopefulAngler sib looks nice fun way of fishing instead of 35 years of shore fishing
Your sib looks so simple straightforward
@@iftekharshafi9422 It's certainly opened up new areas for me and like you say it's good fun as well.
Mew friend here in canada. Good catch master. Fish on
Thank you👍
Top man sir
Good fun for a short trip but uncomfortable as hell for anything longer.
A great day's fishing. You still happy with the boat? Got my Takacat now just can't get an engine, will probably arrive when winter does lol.
Yes it was fantastic, I'm pleased I got out when I did as the wind picked up the day after. Yeah I'm still happy with the boat I'm still working out where is best to place things without doing any drilling, I did a video of what I've done with the set up which I'll upload later (let me know your views/suggestions).
It seems engines are like hens teeth! I waited ages for mine to arrive, I hope it gets here before the winter for you. What's your thoughts so far on the Takacat?
@@TheHopefulAngler
That's good .I,m glad you are happy with the boat. I have only set the Takacat up in the garden so far , obviously still waiting for the motor, was surprised how big it looked, and chuffed with the build quality. Looking forward to your build video.
Are you happy with the catamaran design or would you prefer a more traditional U shape inflatable with a keel?
Hi, I’m happy with the hull but can’t compare as it’s the only SIB I’ve had, it would be nice to try both 👍🏻
Like the video! Have u turned your outboard off while fishing for better sound on the camera or would u normally leave it in idle? Are there any reasons not to leave the outboard in neutral just ticking over while u fish...?
Thanks:) I can't see any reason why you couldn't just leave the engine running in neutral. I turn mine off as like the piece and quiet:)
Some nice cod there where in the country are you fishing
Thanks - North East Coast Tyne/Wear
Wayne I watch many videos like yours and notice how easy you unhook your fish. Do you fish barbless? If so do you lose many?.
Hi Jon thanks for watching, I don't fish barbless I unhook by pulling from the bend of the hook directly away from where the hook has penetrated, If you use the hook shank, the bend and barb curl around more inside and give more of a hold. at 1.24 in this video th-cam.com/video/3vwot-peHUk/w-d-xo.html you can see I briefly try using the hook shank first then go onto unhooking by pulling from the hook bend. at 3.15 in this video th-cam.com/video/9YvAlBJozUk/w-d-xo.html I hook my finger around the inside of the hook bend.
When fishing with lures most of my fish are lip hooked, sometimes when I'm using bait the hook hold can be deeper I use a disgorger if I can't reach the hook.
How do did you mount your transducer to the boat? I’m trying to find a solution that doesn’t require drilling the transom
Hi, I was the same and didn't want to drill the transom. Originally I used a length aluminium box section which I had the transducer attached to it then I used a G clamp to hold it on the transom.
Since then I've made a plate which attaches using the mounting points for the Quiklok wheels which I hope will work out OK. These videos show both methods.
