Ang ‘ng’ ay ginagamit din as a direct object marker. Enamples: Kumain ako NG saging. (I ate banana (direct object of the verb ‘ate’). Bumili NG tinapay si Jose. (Jose bought bread (direct object of the verb ‘bought’).
Ang NANG (when) ay ginagamit na pang-abay (adverb) ng panahon (time). Examples: NANG maliit pa si Juan, wala s’yang sapatos. (WHEN Juan was little, he did not have shoes). Sarado pa ang mall NANG pumunta ako doon. The mall was still closed WHEN I went there).
Ginagamit din ang NANG sa ganitong pangungusap. Wala NANG kanin/Wala na ng kanin. (There’s no more rice). Wala NANG pag-asa pang manalo. (There’s no more hope to win).
Ginagamit din ang NANG sa pang-abay (adverb) ng quality or intensity. Examples: Gagawin ko ‘yan NANG mabuti. (I will do it WELL). Pinahirapan si Ramon ng amo n’ya NANG matindi. (Ramon was given a HARD TIME by his boss).
Ginagamit din ang NANG ‘pag ang salita ay inuulit. Examples: daldal NANG daldal, sulat NANG sulat, iyak NANG iyak.
Ginagamit din ang NANG sa ganitong pangungusap (to achieve a purpose). Examples: Kumain ng gulay NANG tayo’y maging malusog. Kumanta NANG maging maligaya. Sa “Lupang Hinirang” ito ang tama: Ang mamatay NANG dahil sa’yo, pero maraming versions ang gumagamit ng ‘ng dahil sa’yo’ which is wrong.
