Yes! Usually chickens that are pasture-raised (fed more of a grass diet) have higher beta-carotene, more omega 3s, more vitamin D, and more vitamin E in their diet and that translates to a more orange yolk! So we are consuming healthier eggs from healthier chickens :D

Two tips: 1. Add some baking poweder to the flour. It changes the PH of the skin and makes it crispier. 2. Let the coated chicken rest a while so the baking powder has time to work, and so that the coating sticks to the chicken more.

The advice against using oil spray is because the store bought ones contain lecithin, alcohol and other additives which over time can degrade a non-stick surface. Nothing wrong with using plain olive oil in a spray though, just best to avoid those "1 cal" sprays.

keep in mind not every air fryer is the same. I find larger air fryers have slightly slower fan than a smaller air fryer. I have had messes with wet/dry batter in a 3.7 quart air fryer. So now when we air fry chicken, we do it plain most of the time now. I was thinking of testing using yellow mustard as the adhesive for the dry seasonings to stick to instead of a wet dredge mixture.

Egg yolk color is a function of the hen's diet. Interestingly the public has come to associate the darker yolks with better quality/flavorful eggs from healthier chickens so some companies have gone as far as to feed the hens things like turmeric and marigold to make the yolk darker or more orange in color to achieve this effect.

One suggestion I'd make is to add a bit of Worcestershire sauce to your buttermilk and let the chicken sit in it for at least two hours before beginning the cooking process. Did NOT come out golden brown like yours. More like a tan and black color.
Also my air fryer, after twenty minutes, the chicken was still raw inside and the skin was barely cooked.
Had to go to one hour cook time.
I’m going back to deep frying.

My man, improper use of garlic powder. You need to hydrate garlic powder for it to taste like anything. Consider subbing the regular salt for garlic salt in this recipe.

You could have put the dry ingredients in a gallon ziplock bag and shaken them.

How many ml is one cup of milk? And how many mg ist one cup of flouor? The Internet is not sure about that and gives different accounts. I am German and have no clue. By the way thank you so much for your recipes. Best regards Birgit

I think pasture raised eggs look this way.
Regular eggs are just yellow, that's the observation I've made since I've switched to pasture raised for the many benefits and reasons.

Your eggs are likely, free range eggs.
Regular eggs, are from chickens that are caged and fed cracked corn or something else, that chickens can't normally, go out and harvest corn, dry it and crack it, so, they should not be fed cracked corn.
Chickens are supposed to eat worms and bugs. 😂

Where do you get a chicken with 2 breasts and 3 legs? ... near a former Russian nuclear plant in it's much maligned neighbour, Ukraine.

Put any type of liner underneath your batter, really helps clean up….you can use paper towels, aluminum foil, thin cutter board….. I don’t like a mess……

How do you check the internal temperature of the chicken

Hi- use a meat thermometer and insert it into the thickest part of the chicken. It should read 165 F and then it is safe to eat.

Does the chicken have to specifically have bone in it? I'm planning to make fried chicken with my air fryer but I only have chicken breasts

The egg yolks being a more vibrant color could be due to color saturation and maybe the exposure.
Remember that these are processed videos and nothing you see represents real life.

Take note he has heating elements on the bottom (cosori duo blaze), so you'll probably want to flip all pieces if you don't have that option.

Your egg yolks do seem darker than usual....can have to do with the type chicken, and I have been told by those who should know that it also has to do with what the chickens are fed....what type of food.
