I used to catch the ALMS races at Lime Rock. It was absolutely insane watching top tier Le Mans prototypes navigating the GT’s on such a short and narrow circuit. I snuck into a few post-practice driver’s meetings (they just held them in open tents at LR) and boy did those drivers not like this track. Too narrow, too cutthroat, too dangerous, etc. It was wild. Personally, I love Lime Rock. One of the most spectator-friendly tracks I’ve been to.
This is a amazing race! It was a fight for everyone and it is so much fun to watch these drivers throw these cars around! That Camaro has so much grip it is breathtaking to watch Robin wheel it around this track.
Keep it up IMSA great racing in nearly production cars. I have always loved GT4 and TCR at circuits like this and Mid Ohio. Straight line speed vs. Handling. Can't wait for the VP Fuels series next year!
2:04:14 I think the 19 broke the rear left when he made contact with the 17 on the original pass for the lead. The rear left wheel looks angled in at 2:04:18. If not, then it broke when he went off and back onto the curb. I don't think he was retaliating after that, it's the broken rear making the car uncontrollable. Or possibly the right front broke when they touched side by side. **Edit** Ok, they mention that later on.
Yeah, I was glad to come back and hear that it was mentioned post race. I'd love to see that whole interaction from more angles, but the left rear suspension was very clearly broken after the initial first corner pass.
Yeah, live I agreed with the commentators but like you I was able to rewind and you're completely right, he already had no car when the dodginess happened.
How on earth did Robby Foley not end up nearer the front? He timed his pit stop perfect 1:11:46 (seconds before the pits closed) and got four new tyres and a full tank of fuel, yet at the restart he was 11th. Why did the 96 car not cycle nearer the front when everyone else came in to the pits under yellow??? Can anyone help me understand what happened? Great race and Thank you IMSA!
Commentators got it wrong on the TCR battle. I dont believe Gonzalez meant to come back on track toward Taylor. His left rear was damaged from the first over take and with it being on grass it caused the final contact. Great racing in both classes!
How come the Ford Mustangs that compete in the British GT series are more competitive than the Mustangs in IMSA? They still don`t win any races but they can sort of keep up.Whats with that?
I think you can't make that kind of comparison since those are totally different teams fielding cars and different drivers driving them. And this series and British Gt are also wildly different.

Thank you guys, your are the best commentators in sports car racing
The Camaro is my favorite car! Happy they did well at Lime Rock.
Love watching Liddell drive when he gets challenged... just some excellent driving. American muscle for the win!
That Camaro is a beast, Lidell made the Mustangs look like TCR cars.
@@hb-ol9oc It is definitely the superior handling car amongst all the pony cars.

Honestly tcr and gt4 are almost the only real "Stock car" racing out there.
@@Bobbarker23455 Besides club level production classes, I have to agree with you
Shae Adam audio is missing for the first bit of this, the rest is fine.
Quite enjoyed the race.
Thank You IMSA always great Racing.

Great race and Thank you IMSA!
great race as always.. very exciting
Both races this year were fantastic at Lime Rock! Also couldn't have asked for better weather as last year the day ended with a red flag.

Yeah, they mention that at 2:13:39 after they got a closer look at it.
"Good think I don't have to talk for a living"
Me: spit my coffee 😆
Love this!!!
Liddell pass on "the jump" 29 min mark gotta be the pass of the year again for Liddell.
I love how they was Praising the Yougster, Gonzalez I thing, then at the last minute of the rest he mess up real bad
If it weren't for the lack of grandstands of any sort, it would be fun to see NASCAR run here.
Chevrolet Corvette is My favorite car.
Too bad Corvettes don't race in this class

I mean a mustang won at sebring earlier this year so maybe they arent as fast at this track.

It's not avout the cars. It's about the teams and drivers.
Right Jeremy?
Jeremy: Tru Dat
I swear the 59 had suspension damage the way it was turning in , looked like toe out on the rear left
Could be. They had contact on that side with the 40 earlier.
Did they say how he dropped 3 spots on the last lap?
@@BlackMan614 at the right hander before the uphill he got loose and almost hit the barriers. The car just didn't look right for most of that race

He needs some coffee!
The Houndai-class is just boring
Many seem to love the multi-class racing between the GS and TCR classes but thank you very much for your feedback.
