I still haven’t had a chance to play Asphodel in MP, so this should be a fun series. I'm going to guess that you become a terror around turn 20 or so but drop off in the late game - or you get coalitioned, which is always a fun time. 😂
hmm I was sure I had notification bell turned on... glad to see that a lot of the old guard likes Asphodel and want to play it. Can't wait for someone to win using the new Therodos though that will be hard because of the ethereal nerf...
I never got much chance to play around with Therodos myself in 5 because of the usual no popkill and/or no UW. I like the theme of them and would be interested in giving them a go in 6 even despite the nerfs. But my shtick is not really going over nations in detail that I haven't had a full bit of experience with ☺️
Asphodel has done really well in the MP games I've seen them, maybe due to people not recruiting indy priests or coalitioning them early, but they seem to generate an absurd amount of freespawn.
You're not wrong, the big kicker there for me is encumbrance. Of course the first instinct is twiceborn, and there are ways around it with a bless that I'll go over in my next vid
1:01:35 I never suicide a twice born mage. I just send them into battle. Them dying is inevitable. Same with any blood hunter if he has death paths when he comes back he can retire.

Oh Asphodel, the red headed stop child of Dominions 5! They're better in Dom6 and I think more playable now.
The problem with Dryan Hags is that they get old age as soon as you recruit them...

Just a reference, alas. Vampiric weapons are fun but ultimately I didn't go with them in my game
