    Caleb will be the Packers' kryptonite. He's Rodgers 2.0, an improved version. We might be disappointed by losing at the end of the season, however it happens, but CW is going to change the way the Bears play football... And how they're looked at by the entire NFL. 🐻 👇

    Yes, expectations are too high. I don't care that Caleb Williams was picked 1st overall. I don't care that Rome Odunze is a promising 1st round pick. The fact of the matter is that they're still both rookies who haven't played a single game in the NFL. We expect them to be great. We expected Fields to be great, and after three seasons, he was still a bust. This is their rookie year. We have no idea how they're going to adapt to the speed and play of the NFL.
    Not to mention that while the WR room looks great on paper, Keenan Allen is still injury prone and is likely in the last few years of his career. If the QB cannot adapt to the NFL, then it won't matter that he's on the team anyway.
    Don't disregard the holes that are still on the defensive and offensive lines either. Sure, we have a little more depth this season than last season, but Bates and Coleman aren't a sure thing at Center. If they can't perform then Williams is going to be running for his life all season, especially if Jenkins gets injured, Davis has a year like last year, and/or Jones doesn't take a step up.
    On the defensive side, we're relying on Gervon Dexter to take a step up and stop being so damn slow now that Justin Jones is gone, and we still don't have a competent pass rusher opposite of Sweat.
    On top of all of that, we're still talking about a franchise that has never been able to competently develop a QB. Why should they start now?
    So are expectations too high? Absolutely. This team looks good on paper, but there are still holes in the roster and entire units that are still questionable at best (the trenches). To be excited to see what the team can do is one thing, but to expect a winning season from a team that has only had 6 winning seasons in the past two decades, still has questionable offensive and defensive lines, is depending on rookies to win them games, and has never developed a QB in their entire history is, quite frankly, ridiculous.
    Can we look at the roster and have hope for a winning season? Of course we can, but don't expect it.
    Oh, and if they do underperform because we have a shitty offensive and defensive line and the quarterback is a rookie, firing Eberflus would only be setting Williams up for failure like they did with Fields. We already know that throwing a QB a new playbook after his rookie year is a recipe for disaster, so why would Poles want to make the same mistake all over again?

      @@charlesmustang Williams can show he is the guy and still throw the game ending interceptions especially in the beginning of the season when he still has need to play hero ball mode. 11 wins gets you playoffs but 8 is the most realistic given a rookie QB regardless of how much ppl want to think he will be the goat

    • @tonyk7387
      @tonyk7387 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think floor is 8. The ceiling is there is none. Imo if they're very above .500 at the trade deadline, they probably look to trade one of their 2nd rounders for another pass rusher and they go for it. Especially if it's someone they feel like they can sign to an extension like Sweat. Or if it's just a rental, maybe you use a 3rd pick if possible. They will probably get a comp 3rd rounder assuming Ian Cunningham leaves to be someone's GM in the off-season

It's not often that a good team fires their GM so no matter how long he stays with the Bears.. the chances of the eventual options being a top team is slim

    Yes, the don't have 2 elements you need. They not great on o line and d line .. until those units get stronger they limited. So 8 to 10 wins is wat I see. I think the o line gonna limit how great the offense can be and when they go up against good o lines ( Last GB game the def gonna be limited)

  • @ColonelFU
    @ColonelFU 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    But what they’re omitting is the domino affect of the HC being fired. So, the HC is fired going into next year… you either have to reverse engineer the search & find a HC that fits into the team (current OC,Defensive strategy,etc) vs finding best HC & letting him imprint his vision on organization… anyway your 1st overall pick QB of future is now on his 2nd HC in his 2nd year already (that’s a bad recipe & what the Bears & other bad teams do) & now your brain trust is completely out of sync… unless,Waldon is just amazing he’ll be fired the following season to enable the new HC to get this guy in there & have some autonomy- putting Poles on the clock (2 HC & 2OC) that’s all before you find another DC & hope he’s good. Before u know it it’s year 3or4 of Caleb’s rookie deal & depending on new regime is taking to their positions everyone is out of sync. The thing to do was to fire Eberflus along with bringing in Williams & Waldon(or another OC) & find a DC that has same defensive philosophy (that’s easier to do)

  • @dloera10
    @dloera10 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think it’s entirely on Caleb. If we win 8 games, it’s because he played mediocre. If he’s above average or great, we’re winning 9+. Caleb wont take any blame, but it’s all on him on how we do

  • @charlesward378

    Bro by week one???? Lower your expectations dude. We got a lot of fresh blood they need time to develop. And holding flus to that too is absurd. We started over. New offensive coordinator and new qb. Is there a chance we’re good this year yes, but to hold everyone’s jobs to that with all these changes is ridiculous and unrealistic. Parkins is awful he legitimately thinks 8 wins is a bust for a season that has questionable o and d line along with a rookie QB regardless of how we think Williams will play he is a rookie who shows in his own highlights that he will throw picks at the NFL level due to the open window difference. Plus he has the same fumble issue that fields had which everyone expects to still be there given it rarely changes. Blaming the HC for an expectation the fans put on them is down right stupid thinking and parkins should actually have a thought instead of blowing Williams
