- The 2019 IDF World Cup Tour kicked off once again this year at Bathurst, Australia.
At the world renowned Mt. Panorama Circuit!!
Our team riders Nick Broms, Dane Hanna and Josh Evans made the trip out along side with Max Ballesteros to capture all the action over the 3 day event!!
Local hero Mitch Thompson made history by becoming the first Australian to ever win a downhill skateboarding World Cup event in Open’s.
Emily Pross took women’s as usual and our young phenom Nick Broms took home the Gold in Junior’s and the top 10 shootout with Saturday’s fastest time.

Imagine being able to afford leathers
FB market place, kijiji (if your Canadian), Ebay just get a biker leather suit to start. I ended up with a 1969 leather suit for like $100 and decided to get an upholstery place to custom fit it cause I thought it was dope not having generic btr leathers. Just dont rely on it and only use it when you're pushing your limits or you'll start feeling naked without them
All I've learned is If you really want skate gear, you'll find a way to get skate gear

Can I wear a motor cross helmet for longboard downhill?
Sure, it's definitely better than not wearing a helmet. But the field of view in a motocross helmet is not good for the downhill longboard. You should always use the appropriate equipment. Try the NewOlders helmet, they are very good.

How do I get into longboard racing?
Check the IDF international downhill federation website, they have calendar and everything for race... This year the season is kinda on the end, next year will be dopeee !!!

can someone explain why their pushing looks so sub optimal?

@@CueiWheels their hips are not hinging when they push off. This is sub optimal force generation. Their arms are also not following through the strides as they are too short. This is forgivable since these guys are racers not athletes. Nonetheless a stronger more technical push would result in starting ahead of the pack every time.
@@Christian-ki5js Hey bud, sometimes during races, it's a good idea to be behind some of the other skaters because of drafting. You end up conserving energy at the push and taking advantage of the speed and reduced air resistance when you are skating directly behind the lead racer. Pretty much the same concept in car racing, so it's sometimes disadvantageous to lead at the push. Hope this helps! Also, it's a bit tough to go ham on the push in tight af leathers!
@@kristjanbayle4720 I can see how drafting could be useful, but if they want to regulate speed off the start they can use a more optimal push and just push less to conserve maximal energy. Oh well, it is a shame longboarding is a rather dead sport
