I enjoyed your video. My husband came to Canada on a student visa 21 years ago this month. Lived in Hamilton at first, then Toronto, Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo as we finished our degrees. But we settled over 10 years ago in London and he likes it here, plus it's a lot cheaper than the west coast or Toronto area. It's a good place to raise kids (we have 4).

If you will be coming here from another country and don't have a job and a credit score yet, you can try to talk to locals for available 2-bedroom apartments and see if they can be flexible with the requirements. The big property managements here might require you to pay 6 months upfront if you don't have a credit score and a job yet.

Our first choice was BC but there was no available health care program for May intake so we chose Ontario (Conestoga vs Fanshawe). I didn't like Conestoga's fast-track program so I chose Fanshawe. Winter intake po ako so planning to look for an apartment before we arrive po sana kasi by that time sbrang lamig na daw so we're worried na if by the time na dumating pa lang kami jan maghahanap is baka mahirapan kami. Are you planning to get her to apply first then you'll just follow after her approval? I think it's easier if you two will apply together if you're planning to also be here. But this is case to case basis and I'm not an immigration consultant. It's just a personal opinion based on what I've heard and read. Good luck on your application.
For room rents, you can try joining Facebook groups about London Rentals. But be cautious and don't pay before signing a contract or seeing the place. Good luck!

Hi Maria, I’m incoming Fanshawe Student in south campus but Fall Intake. Yes, it’s quite challenging to look for a place near school with lots of considerations too. I ended up choosing farther - (2 bus rides )but bus stop is just right in front of house 😅. Planning to get license and wishing to own a car. I’m waiting for ms Polvy’s upcoming vlogs about that.. 😊

Yes po, land trip lang for 2 hrs. Pwedeng by bus (OnexBus) or by shuttle (Robert Q). Yang dalawang companies na yan pa lang po natry ko and so far okay naman service nila. You can book it online. :-) Ask din po muna kayo sa school if may free shuttle service sila.

Hi! It's in the IRCC website but that's just the minimum fund. (In most cases, that excludes what you have to pay for the 1st-term tuition).

Yes, required po talaga ang insurance sa kahit saang apartment building na managed ng mga companies. Ganon din po sa apartment namin. :-)

Hello there are lots of apartments near the main campus of Fanshawe. You can also contact Fanshawe for in-campus housing. :-)
