Unfortunately for Qin Kai, but Ilya Zakharov was much better than him! You can observe this final for many times, Ilya did the same dives better than both Chinese athletes. It's fact!

That was a bad move for Qin Kai to have his last dive at 3.3 difficulty only. He could have got that gold if he maintained the 3.8 difficulty
definitely. if he had a couple more dives with higher difficulty, i think he definitely could have gotten gold

It’s the absolute worst. My wife kept waking up because I use these Olympic Games videos to fall asleep and I would have to turn up to hear the quiet commentator only to have one commentator yell ooh that was a beautiful dive. Definitely a 9 or 9.5

Well it doesn't hurt that they must spend all their time working on their dives and on building up those gorgeous muscles

Yahel no supo manejar la presión...
Nunca lo ha sabido manejar, el tipo ha estado a punto de tener medalla y siempre falla en su último clavado. En Tokio le sirvieron la oportunidad de medalla en bandeja de plata y fallo de forma garrafal, y aún con su clavado fallido estaba a 4 puntos del bronce, resultó ser hasta absurdo.

Can someone explain to me how the judging works. Like why are some scores cancelled out?
they basically cancel the highest and lowest scores. It's to stop favouritism- like a judge from a country that's part of the soviet block might inflate Russian scores or the Chinese judges may have downgraded the Russian scores to stop the Rusian from winning

Divers usually focus on either platform or springboard events, but not both. They require different training on body musculature.
