It's funny to see how different the Geek & Sundry crowd can be from the BGG crowd. Although it may be a bit much at first for those who only occasionally play Catan or Cards Against Humanity, this game is really not that complicated. It's predecessors are super simple as well.
I know this is a 3y old comment but… The story goes that this is what led to Mystic Vale. Originally this was the concept the designer had and aeg thought it would be best to use the card crafting mechanism in a simplified more streamlined version which would also give them more time to flesh out the rules for EoD. You probably already know this now lol
It might be like Eldritch Horror, seems super complicated for no reason when someone explains to you, but makes a ton of sense and is a lot of fun once you actually get going! Then it again it might suck.
This game is rated 3.42 our of 5 for complexity on BGG. If you prefer lighter games, this isn't for you. Some of us prefer heavier games if that's not to your taste, that's cool.
This one sounds quite confusing, but I have a feeling it's a lot simpler in play. I'm quite looking forward to a Game The Game on it, because it takes a different approach.

The game SEEMS overly convoluted, and it is deep! This is not a starter game for new players, but it is a amazing game for people who like games with depth and high variability with replay.
I usually like Becca's game walk-throughs but this explanation had my wife and I asking each other "do you understand (at all) how this game is played?" We enjoy Mystic Vale but this looks like a pass to me....
Karsten Von Fjellheim Kickstarter has been known to over fund convoluted, bloated, generally unfun games simply because of aesthetics or setting. I don't look at Kickstarter achievements as an indicator for a good game

In this hobby there are many adults who stayed young. That's one reason why we love games so much. I have yet to see a beginner friendly game on this channel, that is: one that can be taught or learned easily. Any chance of seeing some with a bit more structural elegance?

This all seems extremely convoluted.

after 1 playthrough... this is a top 3 game for me easily. absolutely incredible game
Received my kickstarter today. John D. Clair is a superstar-designer now (and for good reasons). One of the rare KS I'm not regretting upon arrival 😅
