    Comment below: Interesting metaphors were used in the review by Prathyush Parasuraman.

      Please use BGM that doesn't put people to sleep. Elevator me bajte hai ye tunes.
      Also Hindi me bhi reviews dijiye. And don't come back mocking me or anyone trying to show your elitism.

      The review itself comes across as empty and incoherently structured when all is said and done. The few good points seem either half baked or lack any meaningful analysis. I think Prathyush needs to realise that there's more to film criticism than just being eloquent.

    The problem with most of the current film reviewers is that they seem to forget about the film itself, and end up giving a Ted-talk about its subject matter. Alas. :(

    • @SimonM7TV
      @SimonM7TV ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Reviews have had to adapt to a post-"buyer's advice" format. The problem isn't with reviewers, they do what they can with the format. A strict "buy a ticket" or "don't buy a ticket" style of review simply doesn't make much sense any more when people have by and large already made their minds up - even about the quality of the movie oftentimes - before they see the review. The most common complaint is about spoilers, and also "how dare you dislike this movie I haven't seen yet?!?!"
      So if you can talk about the movie in a way that is simultaneously unspecific and vague but also additive to the experience even if someone has watched it, and furthermore also potentially intriguing or interesting to someone who hasn't, that's a good place to land.

    The review like the movie needs a lot more editing and polishing. Lot of jargon, incoherent presentation and at the end the viewer gained no new information in making the decision to watch the movie or not. It felt more like a cathartic exercise on the part of the reviewer to bring out his inbuilt lexicon with the aid of this movie rather than to help someone else make an informed choice about buying a ticket or not.

    Something tells me...his review is beautiful to read. Found myself losing attention because of the soft delivery and fading off of his voice. If he works on that, soon this new voice of reviewing will garner a lot of love and following.

    • @SimonM7TV
      @SimonM7TV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get what you're saying, but I find the soft delivery kinda compelling. It's a different pace and tone to other youtube reviewers, and it makes it stand out. I like it.
      But we agree on the almost prose like articulation of the sentiment here. Lovely writing. :)

  • @AdarshKumar-nj7rp

    For everyone in the comments, a movie review doesn't needs to label a movie good or bad. Sometimes critics just want to present the pros and cons and want the audience to make up their own mind. What one may like, may not be by other so it becomes hard to give an objective verdict.

  • @rahulchaddha13
    @rahulchaddha13 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    If a movie review gets more complex to comprehend that the movie itself, then there is a problem with the reviewer? Your command of English is commendable, but it's important to understand that you are reviewing a work of entertainment and not a work of literature or a piece of art.
    Most of the time I wasn't able to understand whether you are still reviewing the movie or are sharing your thoughts on a totally unrelated generic subject.

    And is it really a bad thing if somebody goes to the theatre and comes out with a fresh perspective on things or as you said, "a better man"? Liked the video, liked the way you analysed it. But this is a really bad review in the context of *reviews*.

    Such an exhausting movie review, I could not understand the very point Prathyush is making in here. This so called review doesn't serve its very purpose, beats around the bush a lot, and feels like a poor English Literature thesis attempt. I wonder what audience you are catering to!

    Too confusing for a review. Don't know if he liked the movie or not. No structure whatsoever, just random jargons.

  • @SSM_.
    @SSM_. ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Lots of good things packed into the review. But it lacks structure. Hence hard to follow. Break it out. You are an original. Just write it and revise. Sequence it. Limit the number of ideas that you are adding in one review. We learnt less about the movie. Story.

    This is hallmark of Pratyush, whether they are his articles on FC website or this review. In trying to wax poetic about his views and ideas on a particular topic he makes the whole thing so complicated the reader/ viewer feels confused about what he is actually trying to say. What is the point of speaking / writing in such a prose that one does not get the point he is trying to make.

    One could be Presentable polite and graceful on platforms like TH-cam, but you reviewer could do the following improvements ( So that watching and listening to your reviews becomes easier on our eyes )
    1. Cut down 70 per cent of your hand use while speaking. It is jarring.
    2. Your voice needs a bit more base, you sound feminine which could altogether be avoided.
