You made a great point. Remote start/stop. Providing energy quietly and efficiently is #1. NOT having to go outside and turn it on and off is a key selling point for me.
Loved the video! All of the ones on this channel are awesome! I find it so cool watching videos about Briggs & Stratton products because my great great grandfather started the company!
Great review video! My wife and I just bought our first Airstream yesterday, a 25FB Flying Cloud. Been watching you guys for years! This generator review came at the right time for us. Thanks!
As a result of this review, I bought a P3000 Briggs& Stratton Inverter Generator and I love it. We used it extensively this summer and I have used it this fall while at work. I have a security job where I have to sit in my vehicle for 8 hours as there is no shelter yet. I use the P3000 in the back of my pickup to power a 1500 heater in the cab, it keeps me warm and the nouse level is not at all a problem. Thanks for your review, you guys are awesome, Merry Christmas.
Folks my son has been using this Generator for the last 8 years From Monday to Saturday all day on his 3 truck Car Detailing Bussines and guests what he has no one single problem. This P2200 is the best ever.
Excellent video the camera man/woman gets an A+. 4 years later & you have me convince to buy the Briggs & Stratton big brother to your video Q6500 that is currently on sale @ Lowes & Home Depot for $899.00. It is 5000 continuous watts & 6500 starting watts. It’s primary purpose will be a backup generator for home.
What a FANTASTIC video/review of this important piece of equipment. Love you two & am so glad I discovered you through a friend/fellow RV'er (just last week tho, sadly)! I, like Rob below, am glad to see Briggs & Stratton (B&S) in the running! These look like terrific units. The design features are wonderful. And, I like the accessibility to repairs/parts & importantly, the fact that B&S is an American company. Thank-you for all you do, from the bottom of my heart. You helped me make a very important decision!
My first comment (newbie :) - you guys are great love the videos ..I've watched quite a few already .. learning lots of stuff from both of you! I'm in the market for a generator and feel like this B&S review was very informative; I'm pretty sure this 3000W unit just jumped to the top of my list; I really love all the features... plus a little less expensive. One of the only other things I thought I might want in a generator is the 'duel fuel' option, so I can use my on board propane as a back up fuel source. There's a champion model with that feature; but what do I know I"m just a newbie :) ha! already having fun and barely got started ... keep em comin - I"m subscribed take care !
When you shut off an A/C, you have to let it stabilize for 3-5 minutes or else you are trying to start the compressor with very high pressure in the system. That is why it started the first time and then didn't start the next time when you didn't let the pressures stabilize between the next startup.
A+ explanation and you'r right Sean it's a huge bonus to have that meter it gives you a heads up if the unit is working properly and may also indicate if an RV unit is pulling the right amp as it should. Well done guys
Just found this review and it's perfect timing! We are considering buying the P3000 but wasn't sure about the noise. Your tests are just what I needed to see. Thank you SO MUCH!
Thanks Sean. My second time watching this one. Unless my next RV comes with solar, I've decided I will not even fool with buying it! Generator is the way to go for me!
Watched this recently as I just purchased my 1st travel trailer. A crossroads Zinger! Bought this generator after much research and then this video. Found a great deal on a new one. Love the info!
Former generator tech/electrician. First, a question: how do you change the oil? How big a hassle is it? B&S almost certainly has a totally slick method for this, too, and I'd like to see your video of that. Second, the paralleling kit is a great idea, long overdue in this market space. I am amazed that B&S actually designed their speed droop for paralleling, and my hat's off. This feature alone is enough to sell their product.
I was looking at the Champion 3200 watt but was leaning more toward the Briggs and Stratton since it has been a household American name in small engines for years. This review has definitely convinced me that going with B&S is the best option. there were some videos out there but none that geared toward RVing. Thanks for the great informative and detailed review.
Top shelf review! The B&S just made my short list along with the Champion generator. For the money and features, I can't see how you can go wrong. Y'all's videos are so good.
Im a long time watcher and just got in the market for a generator. Bought the P3000 from your amazon store based on this video and other reviews. Im highly disappointed in this genset. Trips the generator breaker 4/5 times when the A/C kicks on. I put a hard start kit on my Coleman Mach air conditioner and now it trips the breaker 4/5 times running on high but about 1/5 times running on low. This is with the quiet feature of the generator turned off. Im planning on calling Briggs to either get this thing to work or return it. Should have bought the atima.
I'm soon buying an inverter generator and I've done my research. Especially with Generators, You get what you pay for, and I'm betting that adding those options would put the price right at where the 3000 is priced.
I can't like this video enough! Thank you very much for cutting to the chase and letting us know exactly what we need to know. (And, since I haven't ever told you this before, thanks for letting us tag along on your adventures.)
Great review. I love the new inverter generators. I bought the Champion 3100 remote start. So far it has been wonderful! Briggs was high on my final list but had just hit the market when I bought mine. I am very anxious to evaluate the long term reliability on the Briggs and my Champ. Big shoes to fill when compared to the Honda and Yamahas. So far so good. I love all of your videos. Especially the faucet upgrade!
Impressive. I have a 13 ft fiberglass camper with a 8000 btu a/c unit. I also use a small refrigerator pulling 1.8 amp. and 2 small 1 ft. long florescent lights. Would the 2000 Briggs and Straton run these?
You say at about 10:56 that you can start the A/C in normal mode and then switch to economy mode after compressor starts but as your A/C cycles on and off you will have the same problem as on start up, so looks like it needs to be left in normal mode while A/C is running.
You know, I think it depends on the A/C. This test was performed on a friend's trailer. On OUR Airstream with 13,500 BTU A/C it has no problem. It has never overloaded powering our A/C.
GREAT REVIEW ! I've hesitated on getting a Honda or Yamaha. I've wondered why B&S didn't make a competitive unit and am delighted that they now have one. Full disclosure: I used to be a B&S stockholder. Bought it when the company was down and burdened with debt, figured they made decent products and would solve the debt problem. They did & I did very well and also learned a lot about the company. They are foreword-looking and definitely focused on the long-term. Yeah (stock ticker symbol) BGG !
I am with you, like Briggs and Stratton. Just like you said, unlike some of the others, parts are easy to come by and relatively cheap compared to say a Honda. They are very generous and informative with their manuals and with a little bit of "handyness" any one can work on them. Keep em coming and thanks for the info. Slim
Thank you for this informative review. I am a fulltimer and dry camp as often as possible. I have been looking at these 2 generators in comparison with the Hondas and Yamahas. I wish they has the electric starter, it would sure make it better for me,,,as my luck with pull starts is less than stellar. Still on the fence, but your review helped me see them in action.
Try turning the ac fan to constant on first and see if you get a measurable reduction in initial surge current when you start the compressor. It might make a big difference.
nice job loloho! it did seem to me there was no need to add the 2nd unit as the 3000 had plenty of power to run the AC and whatever else. Of course it was good to see how combining both units works. Go USA!
Thorough review...Thanks! Wish these were out when I got my SmarterTools 2000 watt units w/ Yamaha engines--needed a pair to use in parallel mode to power my 15K BTU AC in our AS Excella. I especially like the %-meter and handle extension on the P3000!
Good video, the fault I see with them is you can not add a aux fuel tank for extended run time like Honda has, there is nothing like running out of gas at 3am and the AC shuts off.
I've had nothing but trouble with mine. Randomly starts hunting for an idle. Then the power saver switch stopped working. Then, it would not shut off! All this on a unit that is 8 months old with 3 hours use. It is pretty loud too. Trying warranty once more...then junk it if it does not work properly. P3000 cost more than other inverters that appear to be more reliable. My issue is a common problem on an unknown percentage.
excellent review,, but,,, you didn't mention using power smart mode while using them both in parallel,, you did use less power in parallel but can you switch on the power smart mode
How long did you wait after turning the A/C off to turn back on? Reason I ask is that you started it with the smart mode on the first time but it failed the second time. There is a situation called compressor head when a A/C compressor hasn't had enough time to loose its front end pressure after shut down and it creates a nearly locked motor situation that will over load even a much larger watt generator.
I just love this review ! With Two Major other Briggs & Stratton necessities already. I find this video removing many other options and placing either unit into the foreground IMO. ❤ Leaving just one question, "DO these come Dual Fuel Compatible (Gas/LP) ?" That would be great.
Did yo try to run the AC with both the generators running in parallel with the POWER SMART mode turned on. I am curious if the generators would go into overload when the AC turn on with both hooked up in parallel? It would be interesting as well to know if the AC would overload two of the 2000 watt models while in POWER SMART mode.
Good review, thank you, I am presently doing research on small gensets, we like to boondock on the beaches of Texas on our way south and return. The Briggs and Stratton 3000 seems like a good fit for us.
I just saw these B&S units at a Menards a few days ago. It will be interesting to see how these B&S inverter units hold up over time. The 3kw Honda Handi model I had was a real trooper. It's also interesting that non-matched models can be hooked up in parallel operation. I believe Honda and Yamaha units MUST be matched (2kw with 2kw; 3kw with 3kw). i wouldn't mind the absence of electric start. Adding a battery would add quite a bit of weight and bulk. Thanks for the review!
Yes, our older Yamaha 3000 has electric start and a battery "power boost" feature - however, it weighs 150 pounds, whereas the B&S weighs only 84. Huge difference! Being able to more easily lift the B&S is a big deal.
You should make note to delay restarting your ac 3-5 mins after you shut it off to allow refrigerant pressures to equalize. This should allow you to start the ac in the Eco mode.
Thanks y'all! That might be a good option for me. Get the large one, then smaller one for a backup and to parallel. I'll have to see if these two would run my deep well submersible pump.
Amazing review I REALLLLY was hoping to see you run the air conditioner off of the smaller p2200 because that is my intended use on my boat for the cabin ac. they seem like great units though. might pick the p2200 up after a bit more research. I need it to be small to constantly bring on and off the boat.
a add on to my previous comment look at the percentage meter when you start up the air conditioner the first time and then look at it on the restart will see the big difference in power surge
Yes, I was wondering what might have caused that to happen. I'm still not 100% sure but your theory seems to make sense. We'll do some more testing in the future, and will eventually report the results here on TH-cam.
Does the B&S require 89 octane fuel like my Honda 2000 did? It was a drag in our tiny town at 8000' asl that only sold 85 octane regular and 87 octane mid-grade gas, both had ethanol in them, drats. It would be nice for the P2200 to have digital readout like the P3000. A pair of P2200 would give 28.333 amps as needed for most heavy off-grid peak uses and that 36.667 amp temporary surge when you get too close to the limit. I like the new Classic's having a 50-amp plug due to the second AC unit. Every 30-amp RV I have ever owned eventually tries to meltdown the male plugs over time. Whereas with a 50 amp coach only the 30-amp pigtail adapter tends to make the sacrifice over time, much easier to replace. Generally when boondocking though, we always try to load our generator now more than 2/3 for the long haul. This worked out well when we had a Honda 2000 for backup to recharge our 10 L-16 forklift batteries in our off-grid solar home. I put the 7,000' asl jets in it to work better at our 7700' altitude to get full power to run our inverter battery charger in our straw bale house. If you spend much camping at altitude, it is better to parallel a P3000 with a P2200 though. My propane powered Onan 2500 only can do 1700 watts maximum at 9200' asl.
+Gary Anderson what does your owners manual say? My year 2007 model was very specific. I had great sucess, but the new owner of our offgrid straw bale house had almost immediate problems when he automatically started using 85 octane regular gas that was locally available and the Yahoo chat group confirmed that this was a bad thing to do. Maybe the specs have specifically changed since then?
Would you say it he 3000 Briggs is louder, quieter or about the same as the retired Yamaha you have been using for years. Looks too good to be true as this is about $800 less than the EU 3000i Honda.great vid
We're in the market for a generator, for our R-pod. How does the B&S p3000 compare to the honda eu3000? Decibel level...etc. We'd love to know. Thanks, The Corbetts
Did B&S give you those Gen sets if so lucky you. I have the Generac 2000 very similar to the B&S 2200 . The Generac doesn't have the USB plug but honestly I don't think I would use it. If I'm charging my phone it's just another thing you leave outside to get stolen. I can always use the one inside my TT . The Generac has a better display and honestly I think it's even better then the B&S 3000, but it could be personal preference . I like the grey colour as it won't draw too much attention as the bright orange will. I bet the noise levels are about the same . As far as the weight the Generac is about 50lbs for me it's not bad but the wife may have some issues but I put it on a bed slide on my truck and have it chained down so I really don't have to pick it up . Price on the Generac is $800 US$ I think the B&S is a little more . Both Generators are made in the USA so an added bonus . I like the 30A plug on the 3000 . I don't need it to run my AC as I have a hybrid Trailer .
I have a Tono Pro tri fold cover for my 1 ton dually & love it. 😆😆 One person job, on or off in 5 min.😆😆 I highly recommend. By the way, LOVE Your Channel!!! 😆😆😎😎
Would this set up allow you to start the A/C with both running and then shut of the larger one to allow the small unit to run the A/C once it has gotten over the starting load?
Nice vid guys, and interesting the ability to parallel unequal units is interesting, I can't find the manual online- what is the valve inspection hour #? That usually helps determine valve train life.
thanks Sean! Didn't see anything in there about it. Kind of strange. The low end of the spectrum usually applies to the open frame type gensets like the generac gp3250 and is usually a 100 hour interval whereas the Yamaha EF3000 falls in the upper end of the spectrum at 300 hours.
One to rule them all......LOL Sorry I couldn't help myself.....:P Looks like some real competition. This might make a great solution for a grid down situation. Wonder if they're going to have gas to bottled gas conversion? Thanks
After seeing this review and getting to see a P3000 in actual use, its almost a no brainer to go with the P3000 for "typical" use. Most people if on a generator are in a "powersaving mode" state of mind anyway. What I would like to see is how much "heavy lifting" can it do at once before it says " I dont thing so". Also this sounds like it would be a great back up powersource for your house fridge and a few small appliances in case of emergencies or power outages. Theres a challenge for you Sean, will it power up a household fridge and maybe a tv or coffee maker at the same time? And yes these are very quiet.
My generator has remote start which is very handy. I have solved the battery issue by installing an umbilical cord in place of the battery. I have a 12 volt outlet in the bed of my pickup that I can plug into to provide 12 volt power to the generator for starting. I also have a 12 volt outlet on the rear of my trailer in case I want to place the generator there. I have found that these little generator batteries are very expensive and don't last well. Why not tap into batteries that I already have?
I know this maybe a stupid question, but how do these generators do when it's raining? Y'all had the Yamaha out in the elements, do they perform well in the rain, or do you have to put them in a "dry" spot?? I'm looking at the 3.4KW duel fuel Champion for our Nova Scotia expedition in July. I don't recall anyone ever asking how these things perform in bad weather.
After putting oil into the motor and before you started did you remove the spark plug and put a small amount of oil into the cylinder and pulled the starter cord slowly several times to lubricate the cylinder wall? I doubt it.
Excellent review. I have been researching generators for a couple months now, this was the most informative review I have seen yet. I had narrowed my choices down to the Yamaha, Honda & Generac (in that order) 2k Inverter models, utilizing the tandem strategy with the parallel cable. I can honestly say that based on this review (& the power utilization display) ) I am now adding the Briggs & Stratton to the list for serious consideration. Fantastic work (particularly the AC test), Thank you. It did leave 1 question unanswered however; How long will they run on a tank of gas?
Great review. I think for ease of moving the units around two of the larger units would be the way to go. But, if you are leaving them in a fixed position it would be a moot point.
I'm impressed. I've been wanting to pickup a "Inverter" Generator to my collection. (You might consider a vid on the differences of Generator vs Inverter Generator and why each might be better than the other). Neither one of these units produce 30 amps (21.7 running amps on the P3000) and one could easily overload the unit thinking it could handle a 30 amp load. It's nice they put a % meter on the control panel to maybe prevent this. A Blue Tooth App to my Smart Phone would be nice so I could monitor it remotely. You said to turn the Smart Power Switch off when you start your Air Conditioner. What happens when you have everything running and the A/C cycles and the compressor switches itself off then in a while switches itself back on causing a power surge, which is normal? Do I run out and switch the Smart Power Off?
I have a RV with 50 amp service. I sometimes use adapters to be able to use 30 amp service at RV parks. Can you use adapters to use 2 of the smaller units or with the 3000 unit?
Thank you for all the travel information and reviews. It looks like your Yamaha operates and travels exposed in the back of your truck bed. I have the Yamaha EF2400iSHC and these inverter models are not "Outdoor Rated", meaning they need to be protected from inclement weather. Do you have a protection set-up or has it not been an issue in rain or snow? All the best!
Great video, i am researching for a first generator and just concerned about the noise. i was looking at Honda, Yamaha and now maybe even the Briggs & Stratton.
Can you give an update on the durability of the P3000 since your last video on 26 May 16? It also appears that this is the only generator that will run a P3000 and a P2000 together in parallel. You do have to have two of the same exact generators.
Well, due to a weird injury (broken foot -- long story) we don't have as many hours on the B&S as I would like. However we just used it for 2 months in TX, AZ, CA and it performed flawlessly. Honestly the build quality is not up to Honda/Yamaha standards (it has mostly plastic housing) but the performance seems to be there. I haven't even needed the parallel feature but the ability to link a 2000 & 3000 is unique.
Bought one after watching your review. Three short years later after minimal use makes no electricity. Estimate $920 to replace the inverter. Briggs and Stratton says sorry it's out of warranty.
How would you put a shut off valve for the gas on the p3000 I've always run my generators out of gas for storage and never had no carburetor trouble even though I use non ethanol gas
Nice pieces of kit. Seems like one of the quieter generators out there. I'm hoping someday to find one that is quiet enough to run our A/C unit all night, but, a unit that quiet is asking for the world, LOL! Hey, how come ya tested them on another trailer and not the 'Stream????
At the moment we have a weird situation - because I broke my foot, our Airstream is out in California! (We will be back in it in June, woo hoo!) Thankfully our friend let us borrow his travel trailer for the 13,500 BTU air-conditioner test.
Thanks John, and yes I'm trying to do everything the right way with these units from day one. (I already put Archoil friction modifier in 'em - the same stuff we pout in our truck!) I'll also be keeping an ethanol fuel stabilizer in them anytime they go into storage. Hopefully they will age well.
Long Long Honeymoon I was wondering when you were going to add ArchOil. I didn't ask because some engine manufacturers want you to break-in the engine first but that might not apply anymore. I live where I can get ethanol free gasoline and don't even worry about stabilizers anymore. With your travels I suppose you won't have that option. Damn corn!
Unfortunately, the noise test really means nothing, unless you’re comparing it to similar sized units, in controlled environments. I also noted you didn’t test from the exhaust side of the units. I have a P2200 and I can say that the exhaust side is significantly louder than the non-exhaust side….not an issue, if you can point it out towards nothing and nobody, but when you have neighbours it’s a major consideration!
How are both the Briggs & Stratton Generators holding up? as they are Chinese, and do you use them on a regular bases? or how many hours are on them currently?
Long story, but unfortunately due to my injury last year we haven't had the chance to use our B&S gensets with our Airstream! Our rig is in CA but the gensets are down in AL. th-cam.com/video/MCogAwU-Tb4/w-d-xo.html Overall I'm impressed with the B&S gensets. Build quality seems good (albeit not up to Honda/Yamaha standards). I wish the P3000 had an electric start, but I do love the LCD display.
I think the official dB rating for each is 58 decibels, but that assumes a minimal load and a distance of 25 feet. PowerSmart Mode keeps the noise levels lower. But when running the parallel kit, obviously you have TWO devices kicking out noise. With PowerSmart Mode off (running an A/C), the noise is going to be a lot higher. I'm sure it's still less than a "construction grade" open frame generator, but it's still going to be a lot noisier than idling with a minimal load. In the future, we'll try to run some additional sound tests in these different scenarios. Thanks!
I like your reviews of the equipment. I am needing a generator for our travel trailer but don't have much in the way of funds. I was considering the Champion 3400 watt with elect. start or the Briggs 3k watt. We will probably only use it a few weeks a year for now . In your opinion, which one do you think would be the better one to buy? The toss up to me is between elect. start and the digital display, both have built in handles and wheels to roll around.
We haven't personally tried the Champion so I can't speak with authority about it. I hope we can get our hands on one for a review. HOWEVER, we hear a lot of positive reports about Champion units. In general people seem to really like 'em. I think you have identified the key differences - would you rather have the electric start (and extra 200W) of the Champion or the digital display & parts/service availability of the Briggs & Stratton? Tough call. BTW, if you are only using the unit a few weeks every year, be sure to either drain it dry or add some fuel stabilizer (like Sta-Bil) to the fuel when it goes into storage.

AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on TH-cam are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies towards duct tape which he uses to patch together his camera gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!
Wow! Great family lineage! Thanks much for your comment, glad you liked the video. We plan to do more generator vids in the coming year.
B & S makes good motors.
Mike Beaulieu how many hours do you have on yours so far??
Good review. Glad to see Briggs & Stratton is in the game with these.
..right Rob? I've used and trusted the B&S engines for decades...
Thank you SO MUCH!
thanks Bethany! we have a huge list of generators at rvgenset.com/ We are quite pleased with the P3000 overall... it has been a good unit so far.
Cool 😎 I like the handle and wheels and the compact size. Maybe a future buy
Thanks Rick for your kind comment!
I would like to see a comparison of the Honda 3000iS, Yamaha 3000, and Briggs & Stratton P3000
We'll definitely plan to do a head-to-head with our old Yamaha. I'll see if we can find a friend's Honda to enter the fray!
Yeah (stock ticker symbol) BGG !
noyopacific
???
LOVE the USB port and fancy viewing lights..
Try turning the ac fan to constant on first and see if you get a measurable reduction in initial surge current when you start the compressor. It might make a big difference.
Thanks for the tip!
try having a 'soft-start' capacitor kit installed on your rooftop ac !!!
Great review!!! I would love to see on the Champion 75531i or 75537i.
I will try to get my hands on a Champion soon! I'd like to check those out too.
I have the older P2000 for about 5 years. Runs great
+Michael Bongiorno Thanks for your post. Good to hear that your unit is holding up well!
It's nice to see more and more companies on the market trying to compete with Honda & Yamaha.
I have a Passport 2400 bh Ultra Light. I have been doing some research on generators. I think I am sold on the BS 3000. TY guys.
nice job loloho! it did seem to me there was no need to add the 2nd unit as the 3000 had plenty of power to run the AC and whatever else. Of course it was good to see how combining both units works. Go USA!
Awesome video! Makes me want to buy a "pair" of Briggs & Stratton generators!
+Richard Folgado we're using the P3000 right now with our Airstream and are pretty happy with it. Handles the A/C unit with room to spare. 👍
Great review. Could the P3000 be transported on its side in the truck bed? That way the cover could be closed?
Thorough review...Thanks! Wish these were out when I got my SmarterTools 2000 watt units w/ Yamaha engines--needed a pair to use in parallel mode to power my 15K BTU AC in our AS Excella. I especially like the %-meter and handle extension on the P3000!
When did Briggs and Stratton switch to foreign manufacturing?
really considering getting one of these now
Good video, the fault I see with them is you can not add a aux fuel tank for extended run time like Honda has, there is nothing like running out of gas at 3am and the AC shuts off.
Good point, I'll explore whether there's any auxiliary fueling option in the works.
craig johnson , currently one of the companies that make extended run caps is working on their Briggs and Stratton cap kit!
There is a situation called compressor head when a A/C compressor hasn't had enough time to loose its front end pressure after shut down and it creates a nearly locked motor situation that will over load even a much larger watt generator.
yeah, lra and all that... get a 'soft-start' capacitor kit for your rooftop ac..
I just love this review !
With Two Major other Briggs & Stratton necessities already. I find this video removing many other options and placing either unit into the foreground IMO. ❤
Leaving just one question, "DO these come Dual Fuel Compatible (Gas/LP) ?" That would be great.
Nicely done. Looks like a good unit. B&S has built some good small engines. Grew up using them for mini bikes. Take care,
+CITAP1 Yes, my previous experience with B&S has been our 16-year old lawnmower! It's still going strong, which is reassuring.
Great video. maybe something about the warranty other than that you guys are great at informing us about the generators.
Great informative video. It's good to see more choices in the generator family. You guys are the best!
Thank you for this video! I just ordered the 3000. My trailer has the same 13500 BTU A/C, so this made my decision easy.
Hello from Toronto! Great review thank you. Was looking at the Honda ec3000 but about dbl the cost and the Briggs 3000 is offering a lot more
Thanks Sean and Kristy! Very informative.
+Thomas A. McGinniss thanks Thomas, more generator reviews on the way 👍
I have a Tono Pro tri fold cover for my 1 ton dually & love it. 😆😆
One person job, on or off in 5 min.😆😆 I highly recommend. By the way,
LOVE Your Channel!!! 😆😆😎😎
Thanks much for the tip - I will check it out! If we get one, I'll be doing a vid about it! :)
Hi Dave, here is a copy of the manual. www.manualslib.com/manual/1084682/Briggs-And-Stratton-P3000.html
thanks Sean! Didn't see anything in there about it. Kind of strange. The low end of the spectrum usually applies to the open frame type gensets like the generac gp3250 and is usually a 100 hour interval whereas the Yamaha EF3000 falls in the upper end of the spectrum at 300 hours.
One to rule them all......LOL Sorry I couldn't help myself.....:P
Looks like some real competition.
+jay taylor Yes - we have used ours at home during a power outage! Worked very well.
Nice review. I own the Honda eu2000 Companion with the L5 outlet. I can run my 12,000 cooling BTU home window AC on it w/o any issues.
After putting oil into the motor and before you started did you remove the spark plug and put a small amount of oil into the cylinder and pulled the starter cord slowly several times to lubricate the cylinder wall? I doubt it.
Yes - I do that every time!
How would we know that because you never showed us or told us that
Excellent review.
Excellent review of the Briggs & Stratton inverter generators. I love my Honda but this gives me a alternative in the future. Thanks guys!
Also check out Atima. A new brand but powered by Yamaha and the noise performance is very good.
thank you for your response and suggestion.Friday can't come quick enough so we can hook and book, lol
You two have the neatest toys! Thanks for the review.
Great review, torn between the B&S or Champion. 3000 series.
Helpful. Wondering if P2200/P3000 would handle 2 turntables, laptop and 1 powered 15'' Dj speaker?
How did the a/c draw MORE power on start-up when in parallel mode (83%) then on the P3000 by itself (64%)....seems a tad askew
How would you put a shut off valve for the gas on the p3000 I've always run my generators out of gas for storage and never had no carburetor trouble even though I use non ethanol gas
Thank you guys so much for this demo. I need to invest in one for my class c. Thanks a million and many blessings! :)
What are the running watts and starting watts having 2 p3000 hooked up together?
Hey folks. Great review! It will be interesting to see how well these fare over the long haul.
Damn corn!
After just going through a hurricane, I am looking to buy one of these so we are ready for the next one, the P3000 might fit the bill
Always great to own a generator.
I would like to know the dimensions of the box for the P2200. This is for estimating shipping,
I want to see a comperson of the p3000 and the predator 35000
Can you store and run the P3000 in the back of your truck even with a 5th wheel.
Surprised how quiet they are. What Db's were they producing while in parallel & a/c on?
I think the official dB rating for each is 58 decibels, but that assumes a minimal load and a distance of 25 feet. PowerSmart Mode keeps the noise levels lower. But when running the parallel kit, obviously you have TWO devices kicking out noise. With PowerSmart Mode off (running an A/C), the noise is going to be a lot higher. I'm sure it's still less than a "construction grade" open frame generator, but it's still going to be a lot noisier than idling with a minimal load. In the future, we'll try to run some additional sound tests in these different scenarios. Thanks!
Have two 2200 inverters. Great when they run but lots of problems. Going to get rid of and go back to Honda.
Can't beat Honda!
Can you power through , charge and use power at the same time ?
