In this song Ale stands out making a very high falsetto, in the acoustic version it is heard much better, it is beautiful.

Yes you are hearing Ale singing in Falsetto. If you check out the Acoustic version you can see them all clearly and Ale on the acoustic Bass is awesome.
You are correct about the makeup lines on Dany they tie into the character on Dull Knives.
This song is Dany as the evil side and Pau the good breaking into 2 separate personalities.
Ale will always be The Beautiful Thunder Child to me. She holds up the weight of her two sisters' incredible musical expertise with such solid bass lines and backing vocals. It is impossible not to love this band.
It’s why she’s my favorite (by a tiny smidge). Imagine growing up in the shadow of Dany and Pau, cutting albums in the 4th grade, and having the chops to not just hold her own but to become the bedrock of this immensely talented trio.

Ale does the falsettos. There are a couple of acoustic versions where it is very noticiable, in the ones they do on radio shows you can also see that she is very shy about it.

Yes. Ale is the Queen-of-Cool. Lunario is a great Ale concert, she was on fire the whole night. Also Dakota bar has more full-stage shots (but is older. 1st album era)

I noticed that as well with Ale. she was more energetic when she was younger, jumped around more and was more animated on stage. Now as she is turning into a Woman she is much more subdued and I think elegant now. I miss how she used to be but I know as I've grown up I do things differently now as well so I guess that is how it will be. That of course does not take away from how amazing she is! Still a great performer but has gotten more mature🙂
I think its because she was just a teenager back then, now she is almost 20 so she’s a woman now and even though she always have been more cold or reserved than Pau and Dany
I have heard Ale, after a concert, saying her knees are sore. It might have been during the 104 concert year of 2022, and not being ready for the riggers of so many shows after 2+ years of lockdown. Pau said her stamina was off during 2022 also. They are weight training more since then.
It may have something to do with playing back to back concerts these days. Ale may move less to conserve energy for multiple back to back shows and/or to speed recovery between shows. Pau is also more conservative in her movements now as opposed to her younger years.
I think part of that is she doesn't need to do all that to command attention.
Her mere presence does it. She stalks the stage like she owns it, and knows it.

I was at this concert and in front of the barrier and what an amazing concert it was! Mexico city is at roughly 8 thousand ft elevation and I feel like at this show Dany had a bit of trouble with her voice as they were not accustom to playing at that elevation. You could tell at the end of the night they were spent, they gave it there all.

If they performed this today, I think it would sound exactly the same as these do. We have heard Dany & Pau sing old songs, and they do them as originally done.
Nice bits of humor in your reaction. 🙂 Agree with other comments saying the acoustic version is a must-see. Highlights for me here were: 1) Pau's drumming - obviously the brief solo, but especially all the double-kick drum work just before that solo - it stood out more in the first version for some reason; and 2) the vocals during the "Break" section, where Pau and Ale kept the simple chant going, and Dany went off into a different vocal part. All singing something different, but it went to together like the old "Row, row, row your boat" song where the harmonies are offset with each other.
Ale might be back up vocals, but definitely very versatile as she hits the high notes as well as the low notes during harmonies, plus is the robotic time keeper for the band. What I love about Ale is that she moves around all night long, shrugs her shoulders, dips, squats, kicks, sings, gives a quick smile and whatever else she needs to do to bring down the thunder EXCEPT do a STANK FACE! She is certainly a good look for the camera.
Now you did it! It’s a The Warning Army rule that once you breach Lunario you must do the whole concert! 🤣
But yes, this is from Queen of the Murder Scene. Lunario was the debut of the full album (With songs from 1st album interspersed) & yes, it’s dark as F…. 😊
The makeup slashes on Dany’s neck & hand symbolize aspects of the story of the album. As well as the graphics on the big screen go along with telling the story.
Yes, they run a backing track on all their songs with accent instruments, vocals, sound effects etc.

Finally someone says it! I agree 100% Ale needs to be focused on more! She is the shy one of the sisters as far as singing leads and interviews, but my god she added so much to these shows. She STILL does but it seems like cameras always focus on Dany and Pau.
I'm still holding out hope that they have secretly found/crafted a secret song that Ale is comfortable singing lead on for the next album. Fellow TWA troupes...SHUT UP, I CAN DREAM!

I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but I'm not, Dany applied the makeup kind of last minute to get into character. As an aside, my grand daughters favorite track, she does Ale's falsetto part to help her voice training.

Look at Ale' face at the end of the Lunario version. I love the Lunario version because of its rawness. Of course the acoustic version of this fantastic song as well is top.
Hey, they probably gave her the G&R shirt free, lol. You should listen to their acoustic version of this song if you want to hear the vocals from all three of them with nothing but guitar, bass, Pau on an electronic drum kit, and their voices. They have done some incredible acoustic sets. I agree that Ale doesn't get the screen time or recognition she deserves, but some of their newer stuff seems to have her being more prominent, so I believe that it's changing.
Band Maid and The Warning are performing together in Japan in June. Plus, Band Maid released a new video today that you may be interested in.
Oh, man... you're right, for me there are many "forgotten" TW songs that I would love to hear updated.
At some point in the future it would be excellent if they released a compilation album with their old songs updated and performed live.

I’ve always thought that Ale’s bass lines and her backing vocals are the glue that holds it all together. In fact, I often feel that it’s Ale that paces their music and makes it move along, not to take anything away from Pau’s abilities as a time keeper.
As far as the QOTMS album, Dany sings most of the lead vocals as she is playing the role of the “queen’s” evil alter ego. When Pau sings she’s playing the “queen’s” innocent and good side. In Sinister smiles, the queen’s innocent and evil sides are fighting for control.
I also love how Dany always expresses so much pride in her sisters, like when she points to direct the audience’s attention towards Pau during her drum fill before the breakdown of the song. She does this a lot for sisters. Love it!

Dani’s voice is a bit of a ragged mess on Lunario. I believe she was under the weather with Pau even taking a song or two off her plate

The “thing” you’re hearing during the chorus is Ale singing an octave higher in her head voice. It’s also there on their live acoustic performance of the song

This song is from Queen of the Murder Scene (QOTMS). The Queen is descending into madness at this point. The part of The Queen is played primarily by Dany-here we see the Evil part of the Queen’s personality (played by Dany) in conflict with the “Good” side of her personality (played by Pau). The Good side is trying to reason with the Bad side, but in the end, the Bad side is stronger and forces the two aspects of the Queen’s psyche to BREAK APART…
The song is a masterpiece-we get to see Dany channeling her inner David Gilmour with a simple but effective solo; Pau with a short, but cool drum solo/fill, and Alé singing in her full falsetto voice (the sound you are hearing-not a backing track. The outtro in the Lunario show is fire. Incidentally, CDMX is an abbreviation for Mexico City, which sits around 7500’ elevation-which is likely why Dany is struggling here. The newer concert at Teatro Metropolitan is also in Mexico City, but Dany clearly has strengthened her voice (we won’t even get into the recent performance of HYCAD, also in CDMX.
In your free time you should check out the acoustic version of Sinister Smiles- complete with Alé’s falsetto and Pau doing a ‘solo’ on drum pads😆She’s a Beast!

Im sure you know by now - that backing is Pau with Ale doing that falsetto bit. And yes, Ale was much more active and animated on stage when she was younger - foot-stomps, bunnyhops, back leg kicks, fist pumps etc., etc..
She has mentioned, as she's gotten older and taller, that she's gotten weak knees. That probably accounts for why she's less active on stage these days.. lookin forward to your next one.👊🤘

dany is in the queen character mode, her vocals are not so on pitch but more nasty like and forceful, Lunarios show should be in the RnR HOF, you will see the more you watch songs from that show of what i mean, but these were they days when you could hear all of our classic fav sounds in their music, there are some serious bangers at this show, pau runs the show from her laptop, she handles tracks, some of dany's pedals jus to name a few, TW dont hide the fact they do use tracks here and there for effects like they mention in several vlogs, This is truly my fav TW era when Ale was tossing that bass around like she is breaking a wild bronco, she got a lot of camera time thats for sure, me i would setup shop right in front of her if i ever seen them live. Dany really does have a great voice even the album before this one, when you come across the OMV of 20th centry blood track you will def see a polished vocal and guitar work that will prove that. This concert is all about a girl fighting her demons in her head and dany at times makes you feel it, especially as she trys to bring that out in the story of this concept album, Thanks VC, i been waiting to go back in time so you could see, thanks for sharing!!
There is a snyth/keys backing track throughout the song, but perhaps what caught your attention is that high pitched synth combined with Ale's falsetto harmony?! Love it!

I made this argument in another video , Dany's voice has improved alot since this performace even taking in to account the high altitude at Luario .With that experience under her belt as well , if they went back to Lunario tomorrow we would see a much better performace vocally , i would have thought ,but still challenging of course . The scratch marks were done for effects and someone came up with the idea at the last minute i think .For me Ale is like the female version of John Entwistle ! The new thunder fingers !

I know that you are trying to discover their music slowly to make the experience last longer for yourself and your audience, but at some point, you HAVE to listen to the entire album Queen of the Murder Scene from start to finish. There are so few concept albums out there, and even fewer that are solid from start to finish. This album is in the top 5. Every song on the album is fantastic as a single. When you combine the whole thing to tell the story, it becomes something else entirely. For me, the only other concept album that is that great from start to finish is Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime. As far as those performances go, the first one is the one that I would recommend to watch the entire show. You see Dani really embrace the nature of the Crimson Queen as she spirals into madness as the show progresses. The fact that they wrote these complex songs at such a young age just goes to show how talented they were from the beginning. Remember, that was only their second full length album at the time.

They were kind of at a disadvantage playing at Lunario, since they hadn't acclimated to playing at high altitude (7300 ft. or so above sea level, at CDMX). The vocals did suffer somewhat, but they powered through it anyway! At the Whisky a Go Go, they had both a couple more years experience, and they were playing more or less near sea level.😉👍👍

Very cool, Rob. We are in agreement on a few things for sure.
1- The 'animated' Alejandra during the Lunario concert. She was all over the place and very animated with her singing, I really like how her bass was recorded/mixed for this one as well. This is a great performance (my opinion) overall.
2- The penchant for videos to have a ton of very short (1/2 second, 1 second) shots of different band members, this gets done to death on a lot of video stuff, not necessarily TW alone. (I know, I know,...old guy complaint)
I prefer more shots that contain the entire group, but with the larger stages it gets pretty difficult to get them all except for very long range shots.
This is where the "Cave" videos really shine, you can watch everyone and how they work together.
(If you haven't seen it already you would get a kick out of the 'Quarantine' concert they did during the lockdown. It is a blast to watch them goof around with each other and play a few of their older songs. Be advised, it is kinda 'bare bones' as far as production, but still very cool.)
As far as them revisiting their older songs, they don't seem to view their older songs with the same fondness as the fans do. Maybe someday..... Possibly because they need to keep their new songs front and center to promote the album(s)??
Although... they have done some of them a couple times during their 'off the cuff' acoustic sets so there is always hope...

That's Ale doing the falsetto. She mentioned once that this song was a pain sometimes because she has to switch between full voice during the "Breaks" and the falsetto (and vice versa). Those backing vocals are Ale's falsetto you really get to see/hear it in the acoustic session they have of this song. I had the same thought as you at first because her vocals are usually in a lower tone she sounds awesome up there they do use some tracks from the album to the live show.. Great twofer as always look forward to these ones.

You’ve gotta go with the acoustic version. Ale was 13 at Lunario and 15 at Whiskey. Ale was much more expressive then. I think she is more self conscious now. You can see it in the acoustic version. I don’t think they play it in concert anymore.

For some not undstandable reason, Ale always has less time on camera. Even a very few moments from the camera on her fingers is exceptionally rare. That is a The Warning mistery.

I think Ale is doing some of the higher backing vocals (7:05). For some odd reason, her vocal input is always understated in their videos - visually or volume wise.
This one is one of my sentimental favorites and under the radar for newer Army members. Regarding the backing track question, I’ll address it in a few ways. They use a Click track to keep their precision timing to pace but because they rehearse so much and are in tune with each other, if any technical issues happen they still stay in sync, most of the time. And because of that unity and cohesion, critics think they lip sync and air guitar. As far as the chorus goes, I would say sometimes but not all they do have a backing track to embellish the vocals but from an artistic perspective, it’s just an enhancement if something that’s already beautiful. To make analogy, one of John’s songs in The Beatles from Abbey Road is Because. Has John, Paul, George in harmony. One of their best blendings and even at when they were going different directions musically at that point. Well the actual recording has their vocals x3 so there’s 9 Beatles. It wouldn’t be less precious with the original but putting sugar on top of honey never sours the spoon. That’s what The Warning does. They take what sounds as its reaching its peak and makes it over the top. ⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Ever since Dany was around 16 her vocals have steadily progressed each year.
There was less than 2 years difference between the release of XXICB and QOTMS but Dany’s vocals were significantly better.
Error was actually recorded September 2020-January 2021 and Dany’s studio vocals were very good.
Error wasn’t released until mid 2022 (Mayday was released 8 months earlier) and Dany’s vocals had taken another big leap during live performances.
We’ve all seen where Dany is now with the 4 singles that they have released from KMF and she’s likely to continue improving vocally into her late 20’s/early 30’s.

I think in in most of their early songs were a tad weak which is expecyed . Bit what is exciting is their musicianship and skill at that age . . And that this original was composed when Pau was about 14 ish . .

i got the big guns and roses cd as a gift , played it and could not take it so i gave the cd to a friend and told him this is not for me i hope you enjoy..
The thing is that Ale is a bit "camera shy" and doesn't "flirt" with the camera as much as her sisters do. That's why there are not so many close-up shots of her.
But I i definitely agree with you when it comes to views of the entire stage. You can get some of these shots in fan cam videos, but those usually don't have the best sound.

Totally agree that Ale needs more screen time. I'm wondering if it was intentional due to the fact that she got pushed into the limelight so much younger than the other girls. For the last few years she has taken a little bit of a back seat in her level of exposure. Even her social media is barely active and that can be a good thing for someone who just reached adulthood. I am noticing that she has been getting a little more vocal and visible lately though so maybe some degree of privacy was good for her.
