Dave , really enjoy these walking sticks , i used to make them with vine wrapped bark that will look like a snake , have you ever used murphys oil soap ? i coat them - let dry -prior to spraying poly paint and they really pop !!!

Thanks and thanks for the tip, I’ll look for some! I like those vine wrapped but haven’t found any in my area.
