1 Alternative that I would make to the team I posted is to change Eomer for Ugluk, I am not using this personally, but a lot of people are having success with this due to his blind on turn1, so if you want a 2nd Shadow character to alternate building this would be it!
The biggest problem is that blind gets resisted quite often when you attack higher level heroes. The assist + Crit from Eomer really is the only reason I am able to hit teams way way higher than me. People seem to under estimate the summon. The computer will often target it over a much more strategic target.
I was running what you are (lower char & gear lvls) and found huge improvements by keeping the Rohan tank but swapping the other Rohan out for the Isenguard duo with Ugluk lead. I have the same AOE you have, but can blind priority targets and the duo are combine attacks regularly for good single target focus. The slight heals are nice, but I wouldn't call them game-winning. That blind is the main difference maker for my renewed ability to punch up...especially against Rohan teams. Blind can get resisted, but I can't overstate how much that swap has made for my ability to get out of Iron and Bronze into Silver in the course of the last couple of days. Great video! @@johnbushell8629 Insengard is easily the best Dark team. That said if the choice is Ugluk/Mauhur or Eowyn/Eomer... Light wins. What I am finding is the weakest person on my current Light team is Strider, because as has been pointed out he is weak to blinds, whereas the Rohan 3 (triple E) can cleanse themselves. Triple E hits really hard when they Crit with an Assist. If an enemy uses their AoE when I have 3 counterattacks up, it is rare they survive the back swing. Also a Crit on an assist attack can just straight explode an enemy with Medium armor/health.
@@SRV025 The 3 weakest are Strider, Eomer, and Eothain. Most people replace Eomer (because he doesn't have AoE) with Halbarad. The problem is that you are trading burst for sustain, so keep that in mind. Personally, I would not use Halbarad for pvp, instead use him on your light team for the campaign.
Yeah I basically just record new fights when I see them. Sometimes arena gets a bit boring with similar comps, I just wanted to show off my experience with other arrangements where possible.
I'm glad that there aren't any abilities affecting "adjacent enemies" (yet), because, not sure if anyone noticed, the actual team positioning is not quite as what we see in the line-up page.
I’m almost POSITIVE we’ll have to build Road to Rivendell for Elrond, but I’m still waiting until it’s confirmed. I’ve only slightly built Frodo and Pippen early on so they’re started at least, but we’ll wait and see. I can see them being good late game though.
Thoughts on running Ugluk instead of Eomer in this team? His disable and turn one blind are CLUTCH. You miss out on some of the bonuses from Eowyn leader but neutering opposing Striders is a game changer.
I've been using the 3 orcs of mordor with strider and ironhide. Been punching up in arena a lot with it and specifically target teams like what you're using. FTP here and only about 7k team power as of now. Maybe I'm just too low in arena so that could be why it works.
I've been having a lot of success with Isengard 3, Ironhide troll, and Eothain, is there a reason that combo wasn't talked about at all? The Ugluk Mauhur combo goes insane with Mauhur ult often taking half or more of an opponent's hp
I haven't ever seen this combo in higher arena personally so that's probably why. I remember fighting arena combos with Dunhar before and I chewed them up, he isn't a very good Arena character imo.

Id been using 3 isengard orcs with ironhide and Eowyn, seems to work for me, dont have trouble clearing Rohan teams with first turn blind, slows and constant dps from orcs, plus that ability block and might helps out a lot from Eowyn, also shes tanky on her own
I use a similar team except with Ugluk instead of Eomer. Less synergy but Ugluk gets a turn one blind that negates Strider’s turn 1 AoE. I’m not sure which is better
If I see that team on defense, I'll take em straight away. I'll definitely take Ugluk, even Mauhur. I like Eomer, but his summon dies straight away and you just AB Eothain and nuke down Strider and Eomer :D That being said, these chars work well in campaigns, so they're good for more than one mode.

I saw the orc trio with Strider and Ironhyde on defense(still F2P friendly) that wrecked me and it was a punch down (my blind from uglik missed which is why I got wrecked), I was surprised, but I was wondering your take on that. since I didn't see you face something like this in your vid. Also, I'm also using Wubete as my 5th Shadow, why not use him in Arena with his AoE slow? Not strong enough, no synergy?
This is interchangeable I would say I see a lot of people using either or. There have been many times where fighting Ugluk has been a pain in the ass so definitely see his value here if you want to raise him as your Top 5! I feel wubete in Arena just lacks a bit of synergy the other characters bring and he's not as fast as Ugluk (if you're using any other character).
@@boilongaming great insight on Wubete, speed is king in a turn based game, so even though he slows, it takes him too long for it to make a valuable effect. Maybe later (much later) when we need multiple teams for content and we can build the rest of his team (robel has turn meter knock back) the synergy will be more apparent. It is a random rotation....doesn't help that the timers for the shops are wonky AF. But yes he should eventually show up in your shop. Usually I have Shagrat and the goblin though.
Fyi, I am using the same team you are. It is a good team. It is really about speed or AoE. That said, I started at launch, didn't get the two week advantage. I am struggling to get out of bronze (every opponent has higher power than me). Your player level is significantly higher than mine. All my characters are blue with significant upgrades and I am fighting green heroes with much higher power than my blue. My biggest problem seems to be the player level difference of my opponents. Watching your videos seems like a night and day difference. Your characters aren't dying in two hits. I laugh when you say you don't need a healer, my characters have no chance to survive long enough to be healed. If my opponent AoEs twice my team is usually dead, so I have to win before that happens. Should I expect this to be the norm as FtP? I am climbing but the power difference is absurd.
I also started at launch, and I've had a pretty easy time climbing ranks getting to gold 2, should be gold 1 by tomorrow, most of my team is blue, and I'm a f2p player as well, i use mostly this team minus ironhide as I don't have him yet, but I currently have pippin on my attack team, and use the heal as soon as Eothain gets low as the provoke is useful, and the extra might doesn't hurt, id target the characters with less hp first, that way you get more out and get more attacks in between your opponents attack, although once i have ironhide I'm going to switch out pippin, but Eomers abilities that call on other Rohan units can be extremely useful for doing lots of damage quick with your aoe attacks, I've jumped from bronze to gold in 20 battles using this method
@@captaincombat248 Sounds like you got lucky and got put in the 2nd or 3rd pvp group. Sadly, I am in the 1st which has all the accounts from the beta. The 2nd came out on launch day. Last I checked there are 4 now. I don't use Pippin anymore (mine is blue), he always gets one shot, usually by an AoE. I never use Eothain's taunt on the first round. If I do, he will never survive the first round. If I am lucky he can take 3 hits before he dies. Ironhide is very good, mine is blue and he has the highest power on my team. Sounds like our accounts are similar; I am just in a higher difficulty mode. Is your squad power over 8k yet?
@@Justin-sj5of not yet but I am building it up quick, I intend to get rid of pippin once I'm done farming ironhide, once I have ironhide 8k power will be easy to get, eothain can last a fair amount of time for me once I use his taunt, usually after I've gotten rid of my opponents strider or ironhide, both are essential to get rid of, I usually save Hobbits for last mostly cause they don't do much for damage in arena, not like Eomer can do once he gets might from eowyn, Edit: I also pit most of my energy into gear acquisition, light crystals are the only thing keeping me from an all blue team, everything else is easy to grab

I've been running Ugluk too and I definitely prefer having him for the blind. I'd reccomend people at least give it a try.

I use the Isengard three with Ironhide and I swap between Stryder and Halbarad.

im sticking with ugluck, due to crystal gear bottleneck. Easier to get 2 shadow characters ad 3 light up the gear tiers rather than 4 light
Shouldn't Eowyn be the leader and not Strider? No one else on this team would benefit from his leader ability?

I play Ironhide plus 4 Rohirrim, but since I am level 35, my team is only between 1846 (Ironhide) and 1333 (Eowyn) points strong.

If you have the means, thoughts on replacing Strider with Halbarad for offense and defense? Seems to be the meta among the top Arena contenders.
I'm not sure if you want to replace Strider with Halbarad, but potentially replace Eomer with Halbarad is what I likely would do if I had him.
