Your service is one everyone can use and everyone should invest in themselves, yet some people don't realize this. Sean, I have been a Reflexologist for 30 years... .. and I make Gold Rush Liniment for Arthritis, Sore Muscles, Joint Pain (35 years now). I was a Chemist in the Oil Field (many years ago). and want to incorporate "Life Coach" with my practice Reflexology & PTSD "Tapping". ... because so many people come to me because obviously they are hurting... but I have also learn to ask them certain questions about their "Pain" knowing it was more deep seeded than, just them hurting (Physically). It's never just hurting themselves, there is always some psychological, emotional, components behind their hurt Physically hurt .... subconsciously. Then when I do "Tap" into their hurt, they open up about what's really bothering them... I want to be certified, so I feel more confident helping the people I already help. Last year alone, I had so many people ask me if I would be their Life Coach... I declined, saying I would help if they came for Reflexology. (Not charging for the extra help). I love helping people... help themselves. We can guide them, but in the end it is up to them to talk the responsibility to "To make a Choice, to take a Chance to make a Change.." So ... see if I'm right... In this video (without knowing which leg you hurt) ... I'm assuming it is your LEFT leg... am I right? I can only estimate that, because of the way you're holding your shoulders. I wished I had been around... I would have sent you my Liniment... it is GREAT. Hope you're feeing better....
Haha, yes it was my left leg. I had ACL surgery a few years back. That's awesome! If this is what you're interested in, please connect with us. You won't get the healing methodologies with almost any of the mainstream certification courses, unless they are specifically focused on it and most are not. They are surface level frameworks which are great for some things, but will NEVER help you deal with people trauma or deeper emotional pains. But this is what I focus on. See if it's a good fit for you. I can tell by your comments on all these videos that you're wanting that type of confidence and certainty. I don't want you to ever lack the confidence when someone asks you to be their coach again. ;)

When I was young, I thought I had the answer to everyone's problems... it's amazing that I didn't screw someone up with my EGO... LOL.. (HINT: 2 divorces)... I have come to the conclusion, especially since I have been a reflexologist for so long, that if someone truly wants help... they'll ask for it, and pay for it... Not me chocking my point of view down their throat, even if I'm right... but at the same token, (you know my motto: "You don't get paid for FREE advice") ...but a lot of people just want someone to listen to... that is easy when I"m doing a hour reflexology treatment or a 20 minute chair massage... I qualified in Australia and have returned to UK. An issue for me, Sean is that in the US it seems that client acquisition depends far more on telephone contact than I am used to. I find that the face to face initial, free consultation, enables me as coach to make assessments based on behaviours such as body language, eye contact, etc. While I have coached by telephone I have never felt as satisfied. This may be down to me as coach but I think it has more to do with the benefits of personal empathy from the first meeting. Really like the IGNITE system most of which I use in one form or other. Also use SMART for initial goal identification. Thank you for your really valuable seminars.

Thanks Sean. Excellent training. So the free consultation is really just to help both you and the client figure out whether you would be a good fit for working together and isn't meant to give them a "sample" of the coaching since it doesn't get into any "how to"? I'm always concerned about managing client expectations and want to make sure they don't get the wrong idea. In your marketing, do you let them know that the free consultation isn't the same as a coaching session? Also, it seems to me that actually giving them a sample so they can experience some kind of result would be a better strategy esp. when you're just getting started in your business. Any thoughts?
Great question! This is a pretty in depth conversation. There is definitely a fine line between this session feeling like a bait & switch and it being too much of a coaching session to where the client isn't incentivized to continue. As you mentioned, these sessions are designed to see if coaching is a good fit. While you can certainly do some sample coaching, what you don't want to do is coach someone out of your program. When we coach them too much, there's no reason for them to continue. And since it's very very rare that you can help somebody with all the things they need help with in a single coaching session, if they don't continue with us, we can't help them as much. I hope that makes sense. So this session isn't designed to feel like you're withholding anything from them, because that won't feel good to them or to you. But you do have to realize that if you coach them so much during this session, they likely won't continue and therefore they won't get as much help as they could inside a longer program. So that would be a disservice to them, actually. That's when my perception toward these calls shifted - when I had that realization. I hope that makes sense.

I know some people that do 15 or 20 minutes, but that's not as much time as I like to get to know the client a little deeper. Ultimately, whatever works best for you is great, so I would do several different lengths and see which feels the best.

Hey, Joy. Glad you liked the video. Hourly rates really vary according to the clients and your particular market. Some people easily charge over $500/hr and people are happy to pay that for the value, which is the key factor - how valuable is your service to the client. But I would want you to do a little research and find out what other coaches are charging your particular market, and pick a price somewhere in the middle or toward the higher end so you separate yourself a big from being just the average. If that price feels right to you internally, go with it! =)
It is not a legal must, but I believe you should get certified so you are a better coach and can provide a better service to your clients. Just make sure the certification is aligned with your particular area of expertise and focus as there are many generic coaching certifications that sound neat, but won't really drive your business forward. Hope that helps.

I know that we have a lot of sick people on this planet but I am not sure how to do free consultations on this topic.... basically what I am doing here is being an alternative for their health issues when they do not want to turn to traditional methods.
