Can you do an update on this plant and a few of the others you have rescued? I'd love to hear about the changes in them since you rescued them and if there was anything you did that might not have worked and how you fixed it.

Brad, I have two Oncidiums in roughly the same shape as yours in this tutorial. Thanks for sharing your repotting steps. I will use your plan and steps asap to give my Oncidium rescues a new chance to flourish. Thank you so much for sharing. *orchid enthusiast from USA Date: Jan. 19, 2019

I’m doing the same thing as far as “going back to moss.” I was doing semihydro and everyone seemed happy… until I had to bring them in for the winter. I live in New Orleans, but I still put up a greenhouse in a room that has a big window, and it wasn’t being used. I kept the door open mostly, for ventilation so that the central heat (and sometimes freak heat waves would require A/C) could keep the air moving inside the greenhouse. Well, it would get too cold for semihydro despite my use of seedling warming mats, and my roots were dying. So, I put all of my orchids into a mixture of Besgrow AAA or AAAA sphagnum moss, and either small, medium, or large Orchiata bark to make sure that the moss doesn’t get too compacted and they’re seeming to come back (if they weren’t too far gone… ) Thanks for all of your helpful videos, I wish I’d known about them when I was so frustrated and trying to grow my orchids up in Minneapolis; I need supplemental lighting in New Orleans, so obviously, it would have been helpful up in the frozen tundra. I’m excited because this is the weekend where my Cymbidiums are going to get repotted and taken to their spot by the pool for most of the rest of the year!

    Brad, great video
I save them all in my computer file for when and if I get the same plants.
Of course I will get it at some time.
Very informative and easy to follow.
Are you going to the San Francisco Orchid Show next weekend?
    Let me know.
I have some tiles that need dividing and I am meeting up with other growers I have been following.
My tiles would love your greenhouse.

Great Brad, love your repotting videos :) I've been using more moss too for some of the same reasons. Thanks.

Hi Brad, i enjoy your videos and have learned a lot. Should I put lime in my cattleyas that are in bark or is that just for plants in moss? If so, about how much for a 6 inch pot?

A year or two years ago I bought an oncidium orchid without a tag name. It hasn't bloomed yet. So this year, I put the pot into a semi-tall clear glass container and added a damp paper towel at the bottom of the pot. It likes it that I can see new leaves. Also, the stems of the orchid are apart like it wants me to divide it. I should wait several months, right?

I love being a part of your repotting stuff. When you say rescue, where do you rescue such a fancy orchid from?

Brad are you using a regular air conditioner? Why wouldn’t you use an evaporative cooler ie a swamp cooler. That cools and puts moisture in the air, there are smaller ones even though it’s how the big greenhouses cool their houses.

In another video you mentioned using Epsom Salt why do you use this. I am a novice at this so I learning. I have killed many orchids in the past but now I am trying to learn how to keep them alive.
