    Darn it I was just at TJ yesterday. As per your recommend I did get a bottle of the organic coconut smoothie, That is my brand new favorite smoothie in a bottle. I'm glad to hear you say don't steam in the bag. I didn't ever trust bagged plastic so I have not used that option. I can't wait to get some of the artichoke packs. Thanks for the reviews and the great content.

    Hi Bobby, I love your videos, very informative. Two things about Trader Joe's...I have been shopping there for years and although I love their products, over time I have been being more selective about their products because their use of canola oil and other inflammatory oils seems to me to have increased. I know they do it to keep the prices down, but I read the labels on everything and just do not buy those products anymore. I wish they would change those practices, I'm sure the products would sell well. Also, you would think they would welcome your videos, you are not that critical, they do have some "Bobby Approved" products, and it's free advertising for them! Keep up the good work!

      15 years ago or so a lot of people including myself were trying to encourage Trader Joe’s to remove the canola oil. They never did. I wouldn’t mind paying more for high quality oil.

    Trader Joe’s is a little short sighted. Your reviews make me want to go there and buy products I’m interested in. I consider this free advertising which they should embrace.

      I remember the anti-camera signs going up after some sort of major criminal incident at one of their California stores. I wish I could remember the details, but it made sense at the time. Some sort of pervs.
      That said, TJs is crazy friendly. If you ask, some of the managers may let you do it. If one store doesn’t work, another always will.

    I’m more surprised you just don’t record the shelves and then do a voiceover in post. That would for the most part solve the ‘employees are going to kick me out’ problem. Just recording items should be no big, it’s the talking and taking up a lot of time while others are trying to shop around you is why they dislike this practice. Thanks for the video.

    ALSO: Watch out for maltodextrin in the Ranch Seasoning Blend (or in anything) because maltodextrin has a high glycemic index value of 185-105 - think high fructose corn syrup when you see maltodextrin on a label - it's just as bad for you.😱

    I love Trader Joe’s but way too many of their products contain TONS of sugar! And it’s annoying how all of this sugar is really not needed to make a product taste good!

    • @sadnlonelywithoutmydaughter911
      @sadnlonelywithoutmydaughter911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Sugar makes everything taste better. My Mom and Grandma and other old schoolers use to add it to macoroni salads and potato salad and other things.. not alot just a pinch. As for processed junk I'd say sugar is the healthiest thing they add in there.

    • @markmacintyre3422

    Hey Bobby Trader Joe's is like Aldi's where they will copy the product to keep the peices low. I read something on e not sure if it is entirely true but the two stores were started by two brothers that had a difference of opinion on how to run a store, one wanted to bake bread in store, the other wanted low peices and so they split between the two, Trader Joe's being the one brother with fresh bread in store and Aldi's for low prices. America is the only market where both franchises are in the same space. IDK do some digging and see if what they said is correct? Your the master or research. But I suspect they follow a similar model where they copy the product to make in house for low prices.

      Well, I shopped at the newly-opened Trader Joe’s in my area and I fail to understand what the hype is about. I was disappointed. Give me Costco, my happy place, any day. First, the store is small, very small. Secondly, there is no delicatessen. I was so hoping to find imported meats and cheeses. No can do. Third, a clerk told me that they never, ever sell macaroni salad nor cole slaw. And, they may or may not sell potato salad this summer! What? That’s ridiculous. And, fourth, the food purchases I did make did not meet expectations. Give me Costco any day.

    Trader Joes could up their game a little I feel like lately they haven't been as good, especially when you look deeper into things and you want to eat more traditionally. Too much junk or sugar in things. Trader Joes could link up with traditional family farms at a local level in union and mutual benefit to sell real food. That would be movement into the future especially as the supply chain continues to down grade.

    Bobby...I've been following your channel for some time! I love your app and use it constantly.
    One place where I'm a little uncertain though - items like the Ranch dressing are used by putting a few sprinkles on a salad (I know there's a recipe for making a ranch dressing but that's not what a lot of people, me included, do with the product). Another product not in this video but that you spoke of in a recent Costco video and that's not Bobby approved, is Kinders' The Blend, which I'm mentioning because of the similarity in the amount I would use to the TJ's Ranch (and Green Goddess) dressing powder. I would agree that if I were to eat either product as a meal a) I'd be DEAD from salt poisoning and b) clearly there's too much harmful stuff in both products. BUT if we're talking about a minimal amount sprinkled on an otherwise healthy salad (or, in the case of The Blend - a personal favorite of mine...sorry!!! - an application to meat that is NOT exceptionally large in proportion to the meal it is seasoning), is this harmful enough to discourage such use? I agree that you should be encouraging the manufacturers to stop using "natural flavors" but given the usages of these products are they REALLY so harmful in their current form?

    • @tanyaroehlk2813
      @tanyaroehlk2813 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear what you’re saying and I understand, but when you know that “natural flavors “chemicals that you would never think of ingesting on their own, you think differently about it
      Look at the flavors and ice cream‘s.
      The things that the industry gets away with letting us put in our bodies is amazing and
      Eating a little bit of harmful ingredients is like saying it’s OK for a low-dose of radiation
      And I totally get that it’s a easy way to get flavor but in the long run is it best for you?

    Since stores are cracking down on any videoing in/on their property, perhaps consider putting your phone in a shirt pocket with the camera sticking out the top. Viewers would see basically what you see, and if you use ear-buds for audio we could hear you and anyone in the store would think you're talking on your phone.
    TJ's is where we usually buy our pasture raised eggs, surprisingly decent price of $3.99
    Am hoping some day soon you will make a video on homemade snacks. We've been making graham crackers (oatmeal flour base) and cheese crackers for our toddler grandson. They freeze very well, so we can take them out before he visits. No sugar or junk food in our house!

    Thanks for checking all these new items out plus great info😳. I thought you were back here in Chicago with your hoddie. It’s 37 degrees here today. Why oh why do they keep these stores and restaurants so cold????? Noticed your great guns. Explains your sleeveless tee🤗

    Hi Bobby,
    Thank You for your videos & being a great person to share your knowledge, along with your Baby Rose, & Your beautiful wife!
    I was wondering if it’s possible to do a video on Grocery outlet if you have one out there. I see a lot of healthy foods but not sure if they’re good products to use! I go to buy my chosen foods organic avocado oil

    Can you go over rice bran oil? I use the gamma brand as it's non-gmo and suppose to be one of the healthiest high heat oils.

    Biotics research, Klaire labs and Stadard Process and a few more are all the best probiotics in my opinion. I hate that you try to convince people this is their ONLY option for a probiotic that gets through to the gut and colon which is simply just not true 🙄 Happy Easter to You and your Family Bobby 🐣🐰🌷

    So great we just bought a spice plant organic because I want to start an herb garden soon
    We don't use any Tephlon at all and man when i first smelled that stuff Ugh ! ( I still think someone should start a company using probes to your home computer which recognizes the chemistry of what you want out of your water tap - It's done for Counties why not us?) Also because if you take everything Out of your water you HAVE to put the minerals back in it and this gets expensive
