I feel like your natural habitat is artifact decks, there's always so much love put into their creation and they're always so masterfully played. You have a real talent for making blue exciting to watch. Anywhere else, blue is lucky to be bearable, nothing but the same old groan inducing counter spells and tempo. Although the new Jin Gitaxias is kind of the embodiment of that awfulness lol, you CANNOT be mad getting beat down by giant Myriad Constructs.
If you play counters to get up to Jin, it would be atrocious to play with/against, but I don't mind it being a win con in a deck that ISN'T based on the typical blue/UW control package.
definitely a good deck, and fun to watch. but if that's all you're getting out of watching people play blue, might I suggest you stop watching and start playing? I'm definitely a hardcore blue player, every meta, every format, but I've played aggro, tempo, control (of course), combo, you name it. granted, in every meta, I end up doing best with (and playing the most of) UW control and esper control, but there is plenty of fun to be had in blue, and any color for that matter, for anyone.
One note about Tezzeret for new players. You have to be careful with its passive. It doesn’t say non mana ability so any ability of an artifact counts as the first. For example, if you tap a treasure vault, you then won’t get a benefit from Tezzeret’s passive for that turn. This causes some interesting things. Say you tap a treasure vault to activate a cost of 3, reduced to 1 by Tezzeret. If you tap the vault first, you will no longer be able to pay the cost as it is now 3. However, you can declare the activation of the ability and then use the vault to pay the 1. I know LVD mentions this but wanted to elaborate.
Also comes up if you want to crew Bankbuster and still draw cards with it afterwards it will no longer get the discount. Not the best card design, something like the Bruenor discount would have worked much better even if it adds more clicking.
@@azaelsantana5678 Totally agree. I think R&D/templating is sometimes too afraid to phrase things in new ways. I believe even Bruenor only applies to the FIRST equip you do per turn, even if you decline to use it then and prefer to use it on the second. So what we want with Tez is a bit more flexible than that.
Most of the decks I've seen you posting recently aren't meta decks, and I LOVE IT! You're concocting some very magical decks that are fun to watch and play, and a break from the stale standard meta I see every day. Go legend
You recently had a poll up that asked if you should make content that is either honest or entertaining (or something similar) I think this struck a good balance of the two. You mention this is unranked but the deck is also interesting. Keep up the good work. ------ Love your content. Been watching since MTG 2014. I answered the poll stating that you should focus on entertainment value more. But I shouldn't have answered the poll at all. Your content has to have both.
28:20 A commonly overlooked option is Treasure Vault’s second ability which is usually treated as flavor text. You pass here threatening to block Hive with Hall of the Storm Giants and a 1/3 (this is a bluff that’s hella risky) then at their end step you crack vault for 4 treasures. Then you can Jin with Thirst
The opponent has enchantments and is a midrange/control deck. You're would essentially be risking sacrificing a land and have gin run into removal, which isn't countered by gin's ability. Better to keep up pressure, and simply cast both 7 drops using regular mana.
@@RandomPerson-mv8bn The land sacrifice isn’t as huge as you think because of the amount of cards being drawn (Legendvd is already missing land drops) and Jin will be vulnerable to removal no matter what
First time viewing the channel. Even as a experienced magic player I like you putting up possible opponents cards on the screen, which makes it easier to understand your play pattern. Good Job.
It's such a good card. I have at least one copy in every deck that contains creatures worth to be returned. Great against boardwipes and a ETB monster!
I'm trying this deck in Explorer with a play set of Solemn Simulcrum and a couple of Fae of Wishes to nab cards from side-board. Quite sweet with JIn in play.
Myriad and Dollhouse were my first thought when the house came out, but with Tez, I've been enjoying turning my Skyclave Relics into 6/6 Indestructible creatures. Tez and the Monument are too much fun. So many options in all colors right now. Black and green can make a million tokens and meathook, red has the obvious dragonspark reactor and white has the Book. You can make angels every turn casting colorless spells and gaining life with the Monument. So many interesting interactions right now.
It's a bit of a pity that often your opponent knows they are dead way before the end of the game and so concedes. Sometimes you just want to see it all play out.
14:10 Targeting Myriad Construct with Fateful Absence is certainly a play. 31:33 Oof, I think I would have tried Shadows' Verdict there too. The rules for token mana values are weird. 40:41/41:36 I wonder how long it will be before people stop getting got by the Jin counter trigger. If ever.
Copies include mana value. Token copies just work the same way. Other tokens don't have mana values just because they never had a mana cost in the first place! The REALLY weird one is copies of the back face of a DFC...
Your previous dollhouse deck used the black sac cards to ramp and deal with creature aggro; given the amount of mana fixing in this deck and colorless cards, you think you could do a UB spin of it and take that into ranked? I feel like even if its only to splash meathook that can sometimes be enough.
Didn't want to build the same deck as last time, but a black version for early creatures and Massacre would certainly do better vs all the aggro decks.
"In life, you played mono-blue counterspell hate decks. Now to escape you must find a way to unshackle the cuffs before the drill pierces your skull, however, every move you make will be instantly blocked, you must overcome this situation. I am just worried this deck won't do so well against aggro deck as you are depending on 4 fading hope which you are lucky to have them for the last match. Other than that, I am liking this deck.
Yeah to beat aggro the deck needs a second color like Black for early creatures and Massacre. That deck would look very similar to my previous Dollhouse deck I made a while back.
Would hate to exile Jin only to lose Jacob before we transform him. Could be a valid approach if we focus more on protecting Jacob, although with no guarantee of drawing him it seems a little questionable.
Feels like a lot of decks shifted into a decklist consisiting of 24 lands, 24 removal spells and a few planeswalkers. A couple times i was even matched against selesnya tokens with random doomskars in the deck, leaves behind a good feeling watching jin as he 2for1s every time he is being played. Removal is lame

That moment when the first player killed your construct i face palmed hard enough to give myself a concussion
