This is one song that told me Angelina had finally arrived to the next stage of her career. She was Angelina on display but with the vibe of Adele. Her emotion, her jazzy and bluesy style are unmatched and she is instantly recognizable. I hope this is the beginning of so many more things to come with her album this year. I'm looking forward to a lot of originals it is said that she wrote dozens of originals during covid all we can do is wait but in the meantime enjoy this beautiful artistry. Angelina is a true musical genius in that she innately knows how a sung must be sung to reveal all the emotions of the lyrics. This is very obvious to me in that she changed the emphasis of the phrase "It matters how this ends, 'Cause what if I never love again?' To "It matters how this ends, 'Cause what if I NEVER love again?". For me, that totally sums up the import of the song.

Once Angelina covers an Adele song she owns it. I can not listen to Adele sing any of her songs that Angelina covers anymore because I much prefer Angelina’s version.
There is something about every cover AJ does, they always sound much better than you have ever experienced them in the past. It is more than remarkable; it is astonishing how she affects one's innermost being by drawing you in and holding you as you anticipate each heartwarming phrase.
Adele is great but she's a non-jazz singer, whereas Angelina is 'rooted' in the genre of jazz ever since she was a young girl. Therefore, there's no way that Adele can match the penetrating, passion laden delivery that Angelina brings to a heartfelt ballad like this. Because she is very unique, in that by being a 'vocal chameleon' she's able to emulate the vocal sound of numerous type singers, including Adele. Add to this that Angelina also brings the 'breathy', 'whisper-like' releases Billie Holiday was known for, as well as the raw 'slurring' of words (for added effect) that Amy Winehouse was known for, as well as changing 'key' in mid-sentence. The result is that as a listener you feel there are four superstar vocals in the song. Have never heard another singer do something this intricately complex in a song and separates Angelina from any other ballad singer, past or present.
